On a Sunday + last years date = probably a mistake. Hopefully a mistake actually!

Found this contest on their site. It also references the Aug 29th date, but I suspect they just used the web page from last years contest and redid it for this year, erroneously including the wrong date...or maybe some sort of cut and paste error from their web developer. Apparently they have something against people from Iowa....only IL,WI,MI and IN residents are eligible for the contest. Good luck to those of you in that area!

Buffet was a toyota last year 8/8 and 8/15. I doubt they used the same page or made a mistake. Only possibilty I see is it might be 8/28? But I doubt that.

I agree this is most likely a mistake. No way the Alpine show would be on a Sunday, and very unlikely the exact same date as last year. My bet would be that it is the 28th?

I also hope it isn't late August again, especially after the weather fiasco in 2009 — like math, it totally SUKKED!!
Alpine in July, please. I'm not looking forward to seeing Jimmy in a hoodie again!

But thanks for the heads-up on the contest for front-row seat tickets, ejr. I'll definitely check that out.

Country Inn and Suites is offering on the weekend of the 28th a "Buffett party Weekend". The rate is a $259.99 per night. That tells me the 28th could be it.

UPDATE ON CONTEST

The above link is still good, but the grand prize is now being shown as for front-row seats at the Toyota Park concert on 8/14, with other tickets to the same venue being given away as well. There doesn't appear to be any reference on the site to a concert at Alpine Valley .... yet.

Tickets for the show will be available through LiveNation.com or the Box Office. The Drive has several pairs of tickets to pass along and a grand Parrothead Prize of front row seats. Enter below to be included in the drawing and good luck. One entry per person only.

Enter by 2/21/10 to be included in the drawing. A random drawing will take place on or about 5/4/10 from all complete entries received. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. A minimum of four (4) winners will receive a pair of tickets to Jimmy Buffett at Toyota Park on August 14, 2010. Prize has an approximate retail value of $225.00. One Grand Prize Winner will receive a pair of front row tickets for the Jimmy Buffett Toyota Park concert on August 14, 2010 (ARV: $400). Prizes will be mailed (via U.S. mail). All other contest rules apply. One entry per person, must be 18 or over and a resident of Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin or Michigan. No purchase necessary.

I wonder about the "All other concert rules apply" line (underlined above). I just hope it's not a case of they draw a name and announce it on-air, and you then have a set amount of time to call in and claim the tickets. But I entered anyway.

Heck, for front row tickets I'd even disguise my Cheesehead upbringing and my Packers loyalty, and become a Bears fan for a night.

Ok, Jolena & Eric shook me out of my tequila haze yesterday in cloudy Key Largo. Hemingways has reopened for the season last week although I am trying to stay away for at least another month until all that cold weather and snow decides to head back to the Artic. Rumors are flying as to Alpine dates and pre-party and bus info. Thought I'd better do a quick note to all.

As we have been told indirectly, we will not be working with Volcano Express this year. Of course all those using Volcano Express are welcome to come to our party as always!

The 2010 "Got A Lot To Drink About" pre-show party will be at Hemingways featuring a "Phreddy Phishstixs" reunion for those in the know:-) Once the Alpine date has been firmed, we will provide all the "Big Top" details.

We realize that 2009 was a tough year for all and 2010 isn't looking much better yet. We are going to do everything we possiblty can to make this a bash that is not only infamous in nature, but affordable to the PH clan.

Hemingways will be providing buses to the show again this year has well has our pig roast and bbq. Party will start at 4pm, music from 5pm til we decide to close:-)

More info to follow. Stay tuned and PHINS UP FOR ALPINE 2010!
