An open letter to Mr. Buffett

Post by RinglingRingling »

This morning I got a call that the Buckeye (and probably all other PHCs in the area) PHC needed hard numbers for club seats for the Cinci venue. No date has been announced, and getting people to kick out $136+ per for seats on speculation that the date will fit their plans seems a bit like a play to cut down on the requests.

I don't know if it is you, or your management crew, but in the past two years you have been perfectly happy to throw them under the bus for shorter and shorter notice ranges. Not everyone can drop their life and roll out for a show on really short notice like you and your new demographic (shows in Bora Bora, etc. on a week's notice). This year we don't have the crap of you having to cancel dates to support a marginal beer, so if you could get the dates out before the demand for ticket decisions expires, and actually follow the schedule as announced, it would go a long way toward restoring credibility.

We may be a small, and rather unimportant segment, of your fan base now that you've ridden "License to Chill" back into the spotlight, but we're also the folks who kept you in Avgas and jet fuel before Alan Jackson included you in the video. We're also the ones that will still be there when the folks who only know the yellow album move on to next week's version of The Back Street Synchers.

You sound like you're in the same mood Gary was in yesterday, Todd.
And I threw a dinner napkin at him.
Don't worry, I agree and I'm put out about this ticket NOW NOW NOW order, too.
Whatever. I GOTTA go to Cinci !!!

I don't know that they really have to do much to cut back on requests. I know that in New England, for the last several years there have been a surplus of club tix. All of the clubs have been turning them back in.

that may be the case, re: turnbacks, but at the same time, w/ such short turnarounds, it probably adds to the pile and since those 300 are sold w/out the Evilnation/Ticketba$tard fees...

So I have been told.... and highly doubt.

but.. that said, back to the topic at hand: tour dates, and stupidity regarding their announcement and the logistics.

This seems so strange. The New England Clubs have 2 firm dates and no one has addressed tickets with them yet. Do you think this is an isolated case or are other clubs having that experience?

I've eaten a giant tub of popcorn while stuck in the house the last three days..........how about some nachos?
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Pinot Noir in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO"
