Dog mugged in NYC
NEW YORK -- A Brooklyn woman says a mugger stole a doggie coat right off the back of her mild-mannered terrier.
Donna McPherson says she tied up Lexie, her 10-year-old Westie, outside a Park Slope supermarket "for two minutes" while she bought milk.
She heard a "funny bark." When McPherson went outside, she found the little white dog shivering. His green wool coat, with leather trim and belt, were nowhere in sight.
McPherson said the dog coat was worth $25. She said that, fortunately, Lexie wasn't wearing his pricier Burberry.

How do you know that the lady whose dog has the burberry coat doesn't do a lot of charitable works or contributions? IMHO one can't start a social commentary discussion regarding what people need vs a dog when you don't know the whole story.

Re: Dog mugged in NYC
I see your point,(and I know some people might see this as just plain wrong) but I think that before we do anything to help ANIMALS we should make sure all PEOPLE have what they need to survive. Its just wrong to put a coat on a dog instead of a person.ph4ever wrote:sailorkid94 wrote:Ok thats just mean! I personally don't feel the issue here is whether the dog needed or deserved to have a coat. Someone took/stole something that did not belong to them...wrong!

I wonder just how fast that asshat would have filed a lawsuit if the dog had bitten him/her.

Re: Dog mugged in NYC
yes, the true crime here is the robbery of the doggy coat. I will give you that. I guess I was on somewhat of a sidenote about clothing people vs. dogs, but I still hold firm in my opinion about that although it is unrelated to this issue.ph4ever wrote:EXACTLY!!!!!!VanillaGrl wrote:I personally don't feel the issue here is whether the dog needed or deserved to have a coat. Re: Dog mugged in NYC
My point is that it's not your place nor mine to judge anyone for putting a coat on their dog - period. It's their dog, it's their money and it's their decision. If you want to discuss helping the disadvantaged or homeless then I'd be more than happy to discuss that with you in a thread related to that topic. I have TONS of personal first hand experience. There's another member here who also has TONS of first hand experience.sailorkid94 wrote:yes, the true crime here is the robbery of the doggy coat. I will give you that. Until that time I say the person that stole the coat should have been bitten, and if I choose to put a coat on my dog people better leave my dog and her coat alone.

I respect your opinion and I'm just going to say I disagree with you and leave it at that before I say something I'll regret.ph4ever wrote:My point is that it's not your place nor mine to judge anyone for putting a coat on their dog - period. Re: Dog mugged in NYC
I know its her money and I never said she shouldn't be able to spend it the way she wants, I just said she shouldn't spend it like that. I'm not saying that it should be illegal or anything, just that I think it is morally wrong.ragtopW wrote:sailorkid94 wrote:Ok thats just mean!
