Special Thanks to Mr. Play, the Pharms, Pirate Nurse for helping organizing this little party with a purpose.

Also a Big Big THANK YOU to every who help with the set up and stepping in where needed. It would have gone as smoothly without you.

I don't have the numbers on how much we received from everyone's donations from the wristbands, auction, dunk tank and other events that took place but I will get them posted as soon as I know.

Again a very big thank you from all of us to those that attended. We hope you had a wonderful time.

Who: Everyone who reads this is invited to attend
What: All-Day Pre-Concert Tailgate Party
When: Saturday, May 22, 2010
Where: Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, TX
Why: To Have a Party That Matters

Overview

This party will be strictly BYOB. Everyone must maintain individual care, custody, and control of their alcoholic beverages at all times. There can be no group consolidation of coolers or open access to alcohol. This policy will be strictly enforced. Thank you in advance for your support and understanding.

Everyone will pre-pay for food, with the extra going to charitable causes. Price for a wristband is $15.00 ($16.00 using paypal). We will keep track of how many people pay, and buy according to the number of people attending.
When we buy the food, we will buy enough for 100 or so extras. The extra wristbands will be available first-come first-served, while supplies last. If you pay online after Monday 5/17, we will put the wristbands in an envelope and mark it as paid with your name on it. Your envelope will be at the sales table for you to pick it up. If we have any wristbands left, they will be available at the sales table for $20.00 the day of the tailgate.

Registration and Payment

Registration is now open at the Parties that Matter website. You can register and pay here all in one convient place. You may also order your T-shirts at the same time. To get there, click here:

http://www.partiesthatmatter.org/

Upon completing registration you will get a message:

After we have reviewed the information you have submittted, you will receive an another email with instructions where to send your payment, if applicable.

This is referring to those who want to send a personal check and need Lori's name and address to send the check to. When she reviews the information and find they want to pay by check, she will send them her home address.

If you are using PayPal, you can go to the Parties That Matter website and submit your payment there, no further instructions are needed.

Charity Challenges

RinglingRingling has graciously offered to do the following and I quote from page 2:

"I have had the beard since 1994, I doubt anyone remembers what I look like w/out it. If we raise $20,000 for the charities, the beard comes off. And as a further incentive: if we raise $30,000, I'll finish the road to bald, and shave my head too." Thank you R2

Hats off the Phritz01, who will need a one as well sunscreen after shaving his head when we reach $20,000.

SMALL CHANGE CONTAINER DECORATING CONTEST!

Let your tropical imagination run wild! Decorate any container of your choice in true Parrothead fashion and use it to store all your small change between now and Frisco. Convert the change to $$ to donate for charity and bring your empty container and donation to Frisco. The containers will be put on display and the top 3 designs will be awarded a prize! The judging will be based on design only, so you can be in the running even if you just had a small amount of change. It all adds up!

Friday Night Phlocking
Friday Night Phlocking 5/21 - 7PM Until ???
We usually have around 250 people at the Fox Sports Grill in the Shops of Legacy.
This is about 6 miles south of PHP near the tollway, just south of the Plano/Frisco border.
The address is;
5741 Legacy Drive
Plano TX 75024

It is a sports bar / night club / restaurant. They did not charge any rental fees for this. Everyone will pay their own way in the bar and restaurant, so we do not have to worry about a huge bar tab for the group.

Pizza Hut Park Location

Frisco is a growing suburb about 20 miles north of Dallas, right on the Dallas North Tollway. This is a toll road. You can get more info about rates and other information here; http://www.ntta.org/

The address for Pizza Hut Park is;
9200 World Cup Way
Frisco, TX 75034

Here is a map of the area:
Image

Parking information

We are planning to be at the Dr Pepper Victory Center between the Green Lots. I am in contact with them and hopefully be able to secure the east Green Lot for RV parking on Friday and Saturday.

RVers please PM me if you want to park Friday and Saturday. I will ask for more details later. I need to have an idea of how many we will have.
If you have questions, please ask here first and I will get you the answer.

Parking prices are $30.00 per space this year.
Here is the link to PHP parking policies for the show:
http://www.pizzahutpark.com/Home/tabid/ ... fault.aspx

From I-635, take the Dallas Tollway north.
Go all the way to Main St. in Frisco, and exit there.
Stay on the service road and go past Main St.
Turn Right on Technology.
The Green Lots will be on your Left at the Dr Pepper Victory Center.

We will have the big picninc shelter closest to the L-shaped lot for cooking;

Image

The Green Preferred lot on the west has 144 spaces and the Green Lot on the east has 95 spaces. For overflow parking, the northern Red West Lot has 169 spaces and the L-Section of the Green Lot has 150 spaces. So there are 239 spaces in the green lots surrounding the shelters and 319 spaces in the overflow lots for a grand total of 558 spaces near the shelters.

The picnic shelters are circled on this map. So everyone knows, it's a third of a mile from the green parking lots to the stadium.

T-Shirts

We will have custom T-shirts again this year. They are quality, 100 percent cotton white tees. No other colors or special requests. T-Shirt price will be $25.00 (26.00 thru paypal). Last day to order T-shirts will be 3/31/10.

Here is the design for the back:

You da man, wheatsailor! :D Thanks for closing the "rumors" thread and showing the map to the "who's going to" thread. Thanks in advance for all you're about to do, too.

I am beyond bummed that I can't get to Texas this year (is there an emoticon for "beyond bummed???). Several pholks had mentioned in the "rumors" thread that they'd like a t-shirt, even though they can't attend in person. Please add me to that list.

I'm sure everyone has ideas about what goood cause any money should go to; if may be so bold, may I suggest that proceeds (at least part of them) go toward our Vickster's medical bills? Would be most appropriate since she has always been such an integral part of the FFF tailgate. Just a thought. My feelings won't be hurt if y'all decided to do something else. :D

Party like it's 1999, and have phun and make some magic phor your pal, Auntie :D [smilie=battingeyes.gif]

OK WS - if someone isn't able to get a wristband (they sell out too quickly) can those folks bring their own food and use the grills or at the very least tailgate in the same area?

Thanks for your support and I'm sorry you won't be able to join us this year.

The T-shirts will be available to order thru the Parties That Matter web site when they become available whether you can make it or not. It all goes to very good causes.

We have always donated to worthy causes as well as taking care of our own. Vickster certainly will top the list this year. We are in the early stages of this and have not discussed where the donations will go.

I don't believe that running out of wristbands or food has ever been a problem. Should that happen (heaven forbid), we will take your solution into consideration. We have donated leftover food to various organizations in the past.

As far as tailgating in the same area, it is a public space and we cannot deny anyone being there. We have gone the wrisband concept to ease planning, not saddle anyone with extra expenses, and most importantly provide help to charities and our BN friends who are going thru tough times.

I hope this has answered your questions.

Last year I think it was around 800. The 100 that is mentioned is for late arrivals or someone needing extras at the last minute.

btw - I have the same memory issues, so don't feel lonely.

Woooohoooo! At last, the FFFIV thread has started! All is now right with my world. I'm ready to start doing something to help. I'm just not sure what yet. Oh well, I guess I'll start off with RR's challenge. I believe it had a little something to do with hair removal if enough charity money was raised. I had suggested a little leg waxing as well, but I don't think he took me up on it. I will pledge $50 now and submit it once we figure out who is going to oversee the donations. I triple dog dare all y'all to match it!
