Snagged a pair.....did the reservation at Sleepy Bear.
I Don't even know how much it cost to stay at Sleepy Bear. :o Just had to give personal info & how many nights. They didn't take a reservation fee or anything. What's Up?

Please Advise..............

I called and was told $25 per person. Pay at the gate. Forgot the guy's name...nice as can be. Said everyone has a great time and like the fact you just hang there then walk on over to the venue. Bonfire sounds like fun too. He also said every year the video crew come over so be ready for that.

I don't think we are going. :( Others have some obligations so that would just leave the two of us. Darn....well still have Chicago

Coconuts wrote:Indy was my hometown venue for 10+ years. The only reason I'm going to this show is because it's on a Saturday and we have free places to stay, plus we can combine it with a visit to my folks.

Compared to Cinci, the tailgating is nonexistent. The VIP parking is a waste, if you're going to get there early you should go to Sleepy Bear campground across the street.

I've only done Star Lake once, and it seems like the tailgating was decent there.
I agree with everything you say except for going to sleepybear, unless people plan on staying the night there. IF people are just planning on tailgating the venue now opens the gates early. I've been in the lot at noon the past several years so really no need to spend extra $$$ to tailgate at sleepybear when you can tailgate in the lot for free.

Alright, Sleepy Bear seems pretty cool. Any idea what it costs to stay? Do they allow pop ups or travel trailers?

I definitely chose Indy because it was the only Saturday show anywhere near me...and its really not near. I'm sure the party will be fun. I've been to many different venues and never have had a boring time!

Rv's welcome, call with the price. I was told that they work out a deal because of course if someone has 10 people in the Rv he isn't charging $25 per person.

I second that! Lets hope its a WARM May too.
I hate to think that I may have to wear long johns under my grass skirt!
On one hand I'm happy that it is coming up soon. On the other, what the hell was Jimmy thinking playing in the great midwest in May?

We'll be there - with one Buffett Virgin (who lives in Fishers - so we have our overnight accommodations!)

People do Tailgate here, correct? It's not just at the SleepyBear, right?

I sure hope it's warm!!!

I haven't been to Indy in over 15 years only because they didn't allow us to tailgate at all. I sure hope, like CAT, this has changed in the lot and not just at Sleepy Bear. Can anyone verify that it has? And dio they allow bottled beer in the lot or are they very strict on that sort of thing? Also, I believe everyone about the checkpoints after the show, I'll have to find a DD.

Last year lots of tailgating and we arrived about 3pm. Grills and blenders abound.

Everybody wondering about tailgating, the parking lot is the place to be! They started opening the lot up for it a couple of years ago. Also, they say that the lot opens at 2 but you can get in before that. I have been at noon for the last couple of years and never had a problem. The one tip I will give is to make sure that you stay on the right when you enter so they park you on the good side, closest to the gates.
