PartofthePhlock, we hope to wander over for the tailgate in the parking lot at some part of the day.
nashvilleparrothead, I saw you will be bringing cornhole boards. Husband likes playing that. I s***.
I just wandered over to Sleepybear's website and they have a new website design and pricing since I reserved. I had better check and make sure I even have a ressie. $60 for 2 for the night?? Geez, I can stay at Cambria for $100. Not sure what we will do yet. The campground sounds like fun though. I guess the weather may make the decision for us.

This might make a difference to you- unless they've made some major upgrades (and it is very possible- I haven't lived in Indy for four years), they don't have flush toilets or hot showers.

What is a good time to get to Sleepybear if you have a camper? I've called and e-mailed them numerous times with no luck. I just want to make sure we get a decent spot.

From the website:
Our amenities include:
Toilets
Ice
Showers
H2O for Sale
Parking
Easy In - Easy Out
Camping
Live Music
Phone
Concession Stands
Nightly Bonfire
24 hr Security
So I am hoping for something other than port-a-pots given there is a shower area.

They've always had showers. I would call them and ask, since they don't say "flush toilets" or "hot showers"- campgrounds usually clarify that if they have them.
Only 15 more days!

For those interested, I e-mailed Sleepybear with a couple questions:
They have port-a-pots, cold showers and coffee for the morning. I didn't ask if the coffee is complimentary since this is not an issue, I just need it!!
Two weeks so looking forward to it.
I dont' think this site has a great following of the Indy people. Prove me wrong!!!

We'll still be there. A bunch of my buddies got bumped to the overflow lot at Sleepybear. My son has a tee-ball game that morning so we might not get up there until noon or so. Hope they hold our reservation!!!

We have a 3 and 1/2 drive so I know we won't get there before noon!!! We thought about grabbing lunch at Cheeseburger In Paradise before getting to the campground. Wonder if we could save spots so we could all tailgate together?

Don't know about saving spots. The people I e-mailed at sleepybear were short and vague when I asked about what time to get there and bringing a camper. We'll have a pop up. Some of my crew won't be getting there until 2 or so and they're bringing a tent so... I'm going to have a wait and see attitude about it.

Something tells me you won't be hard to find. My Jimmy might like playing some bago, cornhole or whatever for sure. They look great!!

Two years ago we got there at 3 and there was partying going on already. That was on a Tuesday so keep in mind with the show on a Sat I think the tailgating will get started much earlier!!

Charcoal grills allowed in the lot?
This is my first Buffett in Indy - normally do Cincinnati - which is pretty much everything goes at the tailgate, so I'm curious how it compares. Don't want to bring all the supplies and then not be able to use them.

Should be easy to find the huge LS bottles!
The lots officially open at 2pm but I have been at noon for the last couple of years and have had no trouble getting in. I also have not been the first person there. LOL
Charcoal grills? There is no open flame allowed in the lot. Not saying that it can't be done

but if they see it, they will ask you to put it out.
