People.......listen to SkoolGrl<3!!!!! She's right! Claim the Grove!!!!SkoolGrl<3 wrote:9/4 CARAVAN PLAN
Let the crapshoot begin!!!
I'm recommending wheels in motion at 11:30, leaving Lowe's parking lot and heading to Critterville Grove for 'palooza III.
In 2008 - we ended up rolling out of Lowe's around 12:20 and were in the last row of cars let into the Premier lot; therefore we were parked right next to the grove.
In 2009 - we were on our way at noon, and SP was the last vehicle let into the Premier lot, C-Dawg, Sanjuro et al began hauling stuff down to the grove while the caravan vehicles stayed in line and ended up getting parked in the first section of General Parking, from where our candyarses had to go back and forth hauling stuff.
With that history, it really does seem safe to say CRAPSHOOT! But to have a starting point, caravan 2010 leaves at 11:30....
Feel free to discuss... hello? hello?
Also the weather is going to be beautiful!!!!!!! 80 degrees and dry! It's a Buffett miracle!
I wish I was going to be there.....

I am going to have two lawns for sale provided the two seats I bought from ebay get here in time. I will post them in the proper thread.

Jesus Mary and Joseph!! I went to Party City after work to "stock up" and they had almost NUTHIN' tropical...it's all Halloween!!
FURTHERMORE, when the employee asked me if I was finding everything, I of course POUTED and said no. I said "don't you people realize Jimmy Buffett's coming this weekend???" and she was unimpressed. She just reminded me that Halloween is like Christmas for them and looked at me blankly. WHAT THE FLIP???? The good news is that the few things I WAS able to get were half price.
Grrrr....

SKOOLIE UPDATED PAGE 1.
Please go and read the details about the CARAVAN PLAN!
Also please note the deadline was yesterday for updating the contact list. We had to draw the line somewhere so we could get it out. I'm sending it via email before Skoolie and me leave work this evening. If you don't receive it, that means you didn't provide your email address with your contact info. So please PM one of the folks listed on page 1 to see if they can send it to you.
FINS FRAKKIN' UP!

first timer here! my friend and i are driving down from maine/mass on friday after work. ive been trying to weed through all these pages to find the best way to maximize the fun this weekend. ive never done the festival tailgate thing, im used to partying at the hotel and then taking a cab to the venue for shows. we are staying at the super8 in manassas, any recommendations for a couple of people who dont want to drive? are there cabs readily available? i saw the contact list at the beginning of the thread but i dont know if its too late to get in on that. i can throw my digits out to someone who would be willing to update us on details once the weekend hits.
im pretty psyched for this, its been a long time coming! thanks for any info!

Welcome, be sure to come over to the cove of trees to say hello and hang out. There is a drop off area at Jiffy lube and there are cab companies in the area, so I don't see why that would be a problem. Hope to see you Saturday.

Just to make sure we take party planning into overkil: SurfPirate and I notice that every year our caravan ends up getting broken up on the trip to the lot OR by the lot attendants. Last year we used some window signs to what seemed to be decent success.. does anyone have some dayglow paper they could print these on?

the image is 11x8.5 and should print 1:1 landscape.

Does anyone know if Jiffy Lube Live / Nissan has any problems with the type of flat cargo carrier you attach to your vehicle's trailer hitch? Space is running tight and I could use the extra storage for cooler, pop-up tent, etc. I can't recall ever seeing any at previous concerts, am just hoping the parking staff won't have any problems with the extra 1.5 to 2 feet in length. Anyone have previous experience with this?
Here's an example of what I'm talking about: http://www.etrailer.com/Hitch-Cargo-Car ... /6500.html

Perfectly fine. It's a gravel lot ... no painted parking spaces. Some folks are parking VW bugs, others crew cab pickup trucks with long beds.clayshek wrote:Does anyone know if Jiffy Lube Live / Nissan has any problems with the type of flat cargo carrier you attach to your vehicle's trailer hitch? The Super 8 in Manassas huh?.......you need to pray you have a working toilet........I'm seriously not kidding........program a couple of local cab numbers into your cell or arrange a cab for after the show ahead of time. Make sure you give yourself (and the cab driver) plenty of time to get you to the venue. Traffic is horrible on a really good day. Be patient and have a great time! Welcome to northern VA......expect delays.holdingsteady wrote:first timer here! my friend and i are driving down from maine/mass on friday after work. ive been trying to weed through all these pages to find the best way to maximize the fun this weekend. ive never done the festival tailgate thing, im used to partying at the hotel and then taking a cab to the venue for shows. we are staying at the super8 in manassas, any recommendations for a couple of people who dont want to drive? are there cabs readily available? i saw the contact list at the beginning of the thread but i dont know if its too late to get in on that. i can throw my digits out to someone who would be willing to update us on details once the weekend hits.
