Ticket buying secrets??????
I don't suppose anyone has any suggestions on how to buy good seats when tickets go on sale tomorrow? I have been to 24 of Jimmy's shows, and have only really had "good" seats to two or three of them, and they weren't even that close to the stage. Every year I go through the same routine (4 or 5 people on their computers and/or cell phones) and me standing in line at a ticketbastard outlet, cell phone in hand. I am shooting for the Camden NJ shows, and I know that they have a "pit" section which is right up against the stage. So far at Camden, even being the FIRST person in line at ticketbastard last year (I won the ticketmaster line "lottery"), I still only got 200 section seats, at pretty hefty price to boot. This year I had sort of planned on just waiting until mid summer, and hitting up ebay or craigslist, and at least that way I could pick what I want. But, I guess I was just hoping that someone here had some magical secret they were willing to share. Anybody?????????????????

Re: Ticket buying secrets??????
I usually wait until about two months before the show to buy my tickets on Ticketmaster. Seats always become available, last year at Camden I was in the first section row M. Just be patient and keep checking on Ticketmaster, you will be rewarded.

If your'e going for a single ticket don't buy when they go on sale. Go to the box office around noon the day of the show.

I bought for Atlanta last year the day tickets went on sale and was happy to get them before the "show was sold out". Two weeks later there was a boat load of better seats on Ticketmaster. I finally couldn't pass on a pair in sec 103, never got tickets so good the day tickets went on sale.

Buy singles or wait.
I'm one of those people who just can't NOT have a ticket right away but last year I upgraded 2 of the shows I went to as it got closer to the date. Ended up in the 8th row twice

Re: Ticket buying secrets??????
I agree. In this day and age and with no end of resources to find tickets I don't even bother to look when they go on sale. In fact my wife and I both had Friday off when the tickets for the Pittsburgh show went on sale and we kind of laughed at how glad we were that we weren't standing in line or on a phone like "back in the old days"ScarletB wrote:Buy singles or wait.

Actually, I would wait until at least 4 PM the day of if someone is buying a single. That's how I got front row last year.ph4ever wrote:If your'e going for a single ticket don't buy when they go on sale. Go to the box office around noon the day of the show.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

What makes it tough at GW...buying at the Box office....is they make you show your ticket or will call confirmation as you pull in....i guess you could go pay at a outside lot and enter...or i with a group that does have tickets enter with them....i use to use the will call line...but the got smart!!

Re: Ticket buying secrets??????
I just googled this and found the info below. The last 2 years I did the "best avilable" for Frisco and I was put around the 40 yard line for the show. I was also buying 2 tickets. Many people got on the field in good seats. This year I picked field and got row 13 but I was also buying 1 ticket. I tried the foor in Vegas last year but was put in tthe back like in this youtube vid. I gave it back and got on the riser and was a pretty good seat. Luck is also goodBucs_fan wrote:I don't suppose anyone has any suggestions on how to buy good seats when tickets go on sale tomorrow? I get my ticket the day they go on sale, because I want to be done with it. I'm usually planning for myself, so I get 1 ticket, and I've had good luck with that.

If you are like the masses and buy 4 or 6 tickets when they go on sale, and try to satisfy every friend under the sun,
your seats are not going to be very good, most likely on the lawn, unless you prefer the lawn (nothing wrong with that if that's your preference).
If you are looking to get closer to the stage you have to buy singles or doubles to have any chance.
I don't know how many times I've talked to people that I know and think they are going to get 8 seats in a row in the pit.
The odds are against you. Due the math. Lets say 5 thousand people are get 6 tickets each first day of sale, there are about 300 seats
in the pit at Camden (my guess, I don't really know, 20 seats wide average X 8 rows), at most 50 of 5,000 will get tickets in the pit. That's not taking into effect tickets held for VIPS, band guests, sponsors, and etc....... that are already blocked out. Yes, it does happen.
I was once lucky enough to get 6 in row at Jones Beach, section D 5 rows from the stage, so it does happen.
We were not in front of any band members, but close enough to see all the beach balls floating in the inlet.
And I know people are going to respond to this saying how they were able to get really good seats right in front of the stage.
That's great, and congratulations to them. I hope they any everyone else reading this can get pit or first 10 row seats at least once or twice, or even more if possible.
It is a crap shoot. I have been lucky enough to get a single a doubles in the pit area, but not all the time.
I was lucky enough to get them 3 years in a row (2 at Camden and 1 time at CBP in Philly). I sat in the first 6 rows in the section just in front of the stage. I saw at least the same 15 - 20 people in that area all three years. The second year I asked a few of them how they got their tickets. Most said they received them from clients or businesses associated with theirs. Also, look for 2 females in 'referee' shirts on in the second row somewhere between Mac and Jimmy. I don't know who they are but they have been in the same row and section for every Buffett show in Camden or Philly for the last 5-6 years. It does make you question if all of the pit seats are for sale.
Hope this helps.
Good luck next time.

Re: Ticket buying secrets??????
totally unless you know someone or get SUPER lucky you'll never get those first like 15 rows. im on there instantly and flied through the password thing for Chicago on monday and still got Section B3, row 11, best seat yet i've had but it seems l A section is impossible unless you have hookups or want to pay $800 on those scam sitesoneparticularwino wrote:Bucs_fan wrote: It is a crap shoot. Re: Ticket buying secrets??????
...and sometimes you just get lucky...this morning I got in about ten seconds to the hour, and got a single in section C, row D, right on the center aisle in Jones Beach (four rows back, just right of center). Never happened to me before in over ten years of trying...guess it's the economy. <g>
