off the top of my head (and therefore subject to change)
Charlie Daniels at the Key Arena in Seattle (date escapes me)
Rolling Stones (5th annual this is the last time we're ever going to tour the united states tour) Hampton Coliseum (1977 or 78)
Grand Funk at the Cow Palace in San Francisco 1973
SAVE THE EARTH
It's the only Planet that has chocolate.
1. Stevie Ray Vaughn who opened for Huey Lewis on some dates in 1984. I saw him at City Island in Harrisburg PA. I think my buddies and I were part of the 100 or so people who actually knew who Stevie was at that time. Stevie blew Lewis off the stage - needless to say I don't think he completed the tour with Lewis.
2. The Kinks (I think 1986) at the Merriweather. If you know the live album "One for the Road" this was every bit as good.
3. Robert Plant in 1988 at Hersheypark Stadium. Cheap Trick was to be there but cancelled. Philly's Tommy Conwell and the Young Rumblers opened the show. I seem to remember Plant coming on stage to Trampled Underfoot. He did some of his solo stuff but lots of Zep music.

#1 Hands down - Simon and Garfunkel 1981 Reunion Tour at the Cotton Bowl, Dallas Texas
I've always wished I could have seen Simon & Garfunkel in their prime when they were touring the US. Their harmony is unmatched! I love "America". It's so relaxing...but so are most of their other songs. You just don't hear music on that level anymore.
"It's alright to be crazy, just don't let it drive you nuts!"
Best is hard to say since many are great in their own way.
But, I'll try:
1) Roger Waters at the Wachovia in Philly great sound and sights! A complete show.
2) Billy Joel and Elton John also in Philly. Saw them outdoors at the Vet and in the Wachovia Center and both were good times.
3) This is the tough one...Phil Vassar has been GREAT each time we've seen him at the Keswick Theater and the Collingswood Scottish Rite Auditorium, but for an intimate show, we really enjoyed Shaw-Blades (Tommy Shaw from Styx and Jack Blades from Night Ranger along with their guitars in a small setting).
I've seen Genesis, Def Leppard, Jimmy, David Lee Roth, Montgomery Gentry, Tim McGraw and a few others from the front row but the shows above have left a more meaningful impression on me. So, to me, seat location doesn't always matter...that's why we're LAWN PARROTS!!!

Babe, You forgot Lyle Lovett at the Tower.
How don't I have any Simon & Garfunkle on my ipod??
1. Pink Floyd - Veteran's Stadium Philadelphia 1994
2. Elton John - Oakland Coliseum 1975
3. A tie between:
War - San Jose State College 1976
and
Jethro Tull - Hershey Arena 1974
Honorable mention: Three Dog Night - Hershey Arena 1974
1. Pink Floyd 1994
2. Bob Seger 2006
3. This is a tough one, have to go with anytime I've seen The Eagles, AC/DC, Fleetwood Mac, The Rolling Stones, Kiss, Aerosmith
As a bonus, worst concert I've seen
John Mellencamp
1. Paul Simon @ MSG with Art Garfunkel, Ladysmith Black Mambazo and some gospel choir. Don't even remember the year could have been 1999
2. David Bowie @ Philly Electric Factory ~2003 General Admission.
3. Billy Idol @ Johnstown War Memorial - 1983 General admission this is when he was hot that the babes in leather were hot too.
Honorable Mention
1. The Little Willies @ Philly TLA ~2005 About 400 person theater, what a blast.
2. Paul McCartney @ Philly Vet Stadium - ~1989 His first tour where he played Beatles songs
All of these rank above any Buffett show I have ever seen.
Tina Turner. Hands down. I've seen her in concert three times (more than anyone else except Buffett). She works her fanny off, and she is SOOOO appreciative that you came all the way just to see her perform.
My love is staying an anchor tied to you with that silver chain.
