Re: best place to see jimmy?
I've seen Jimmy 4 times now. Twice in outdoor amphitheaters, once inside a baseball stadium with the roof closed (Minutemaid Park) and once in an open-air soccer stadium.seasinmyviens wrote:where is the best place to go see jimmy in concert?
The best sounding shows were in the outdoor amphitheaters. (Dallas Fairgrounds and the Woodlands, Texas. The Sound was just fantastic.)
Minute Maid Park.. the roof was closed and the sound was awful up in the stands. Way too much echo. However, after the show, the fans on the floor near the stage said the sound was fine for them... so.
The sound in the outdoor soccer stadium (Frisco) was really good.
So... pretty much, anywhere but huge closed-in stadiums where the sound bounces around a lot.

Tho I never had the pleasure of seeing Jimmy, but have seen other concerts there, I'd have to say "Red Rocks" in Colorado.

The brewery I want to open one day would be the best venue in which to see Buffett.

I LOVE Cincinnati.....but the "Red Rocks" place looks really cool. We don't see stuff like that in the Southeast.

Re: best place to see jimmy?
The best place I saw Jimmy was in Newport RI at the Folks Festival in 2008. Lots of folks left when he started (guess they didn't enjoy their kids hearing why don't we get drunk). He started in late afternoon, and sang about pirates and boats as we sat right on the water and watched boats go by. Sun was setting over the bay as he finished, and a rainbow broke out over Newport as he sang Margaritaville. By the end of the concert I was standing right in front the stage snapping photos like there was no tomorrow. Awesome concert.

Re: best place to see jimmy?
Funny, I remember the roof being closed. Well that further illustrates just how bad the sound was in there... it was so bad that in my memory I thought that surely the roof must have been closed. I took a lot of friends with me to that show, and I felt bad that was their first time hearing Jimmy.clearlakeparrot wrote:The roof was not closed at Minute MaidMrTwain wrote:I've seen Jimmy 4 times now. Re: best place to see jimmy?
I agree Newport was incredible, I did not mention it as I do not think it is on the regular tour schedule, but that was one for the top.
