Jimmy Referenced on Colbert Report Yesterday
This was the second time Jimmy was referenced on the show. The first time he was explaining how he was racially color blind saying "Now, I don't see race … People tell me I'm white, and I believe them, because I own a lot of Jimmy Buffett albums." This time he was trying to deterimine if Nell Irvine Painter, Author of "the History of White People" was white. He said "do you have to alot of Jimmy Buffett albums? Because if you do, you're white"
Still, it's all a mystery,
This place we call the world
Most are fine as oysters
While some become pearls

I have to tell you - I think a lot of things are funny but he's just not one of them. Not sure why...maybe it's his delivery - don't know.
Speaking of this topic....you know what I think is great about Parrottheads? Parrottheads don't see color in people...the only color the see is in booze such as dark beer, light beer, dark rum or light rum. That's cool!
If we couldn't laugh we would all go insane ...

Re: Jimmy Referenced on Colbert Report Yesterday
You know, that's oddly interesting because when I attended my first concert and turned around during "Fins" (because it's just cool to watch) I was really struck by the lack of people of color (I hope that's PC I never know how to express it correctly) and I wondered at the time why that was. I did see some variety of ethnicity in the parking lot but not really much. Considering the makeup of his band and the inclusion of several countries in the talent he showcases I was a bit surprised. And in the 5 or 6 years since then I haven't seen that change.

He's been referenced several times on that show. Google the Visa Black Card.

It reference to your way PC way of talking about a persons color. We have one black that works with us one of my closest friends hes got 2 miliatry issued gold front teeth. People on a job never want to refer to him by his color. He always tells them I know im black its ok to say hey the black guy told me such and such. Then he point to me and says he knows hes fat so you can say hey the fat white guy said this. LOL man he cracks me up.ScarletB wrote:You know, that's oddly interesting because when I attended my first concert and turned around during "Fins" (because it's just cool to watch) I was really struck by the lack of people of color (I hope that's PC I never know how to express it correctly) and I wondered at the time why that was.
