Now I understand why people insist on Jimmy playing Red Rocks:

Add me to that list, this is the coolest venue I've ever seen!

I had a chance to see the Grateful Dead at Red Rocks back in '79 but it just didn't work out. I'm sure folks found out about that venue in lots of different ways but I would imagine U2's Under A Blood Red Sky EP and VHS helped put it on the map for a lot of people as well.

Mount Moriah's debut is currently my favorite record of 2011. I recently read that they're about to start recording the follow up to it and that it should be released sometime next year. I can't wait for that. In the meantime, here's a clip from the sessions they did with HearYa from this past summer:

This is a video for the title track of the new Glen Campbell album, Ghost On the Canvas, a tune originally written by Paul Westerberg (who puts in a cameo appearance). For those familiar with Paul's band The Replacements, you will also recognize that this video is a bit of a homage to the video The Replacements did back in the day for their song "Bastards of Young".

Where was Rancho Deluxe filmed?

The movie Rancho Deluxe was filmed entirely in Montana. The bar scene with Jimmy Buffet singing was in Livingston and the bar scene where they are playing Pong was shot in Great Falls.

The ranch scenes were filmed in mutltiple locations, outside of Livingston in the Absaroka range and south of Great Falls in the Crazy Mountain range.

Though uncredited I was hired for a week to shoot promotional 35mm stills for marketing.

Any Black Keys fans here? If not, perhaps you will be after listening to this rump shakin' number. By the way, it's from their new El Camino record which is due out on December 6th.
