One of my favorite songwriters of the past ten years or so, Tim Easton, backed by the Freelan Barons at SXSW in Austin last year.

New song from Tift Merritt that is apparently being featured in tonight's episode of Hart of Dixie. I have really missed the sound of pedal steel in her music so I'm tickled to death to hear it back again.

I'm not sure how many fans there are here of the North Mississippi Allstars but this version of the classic blues tune "Rollin' n Tumblin'" is a pretty promising entry in their upcoming Songs of the South series. More on that from their Facebook page:
North Mississippi Allstars are excited to announce their Songs of the South 7” Single Series. The band is planning to release a series of digital singles throughout 2012, which will be available for download via iTunes and the band’s official website. Some of the singles in the series will feature special guest appearances and some will be accompanied by a music video.

The first single in the series is the barn-burner Rollin’ n Tumblin, a cover of the traditional blues classic. The video for the song is available to watch now on NMA’s YouTube page.

The title track to Kevn's new album. For those unfamiliar with Kevn, you may know him as the frontman for Drivin' n' Cryin'. They got a bit of airplay back in the early 90s with "Fly Me Courageous", they're also pretty well known in certain circles for their song "Straight To Hell".

Great clip on the preservation of vinyl and why it still matters so much during the age of mp3's.
