Police: Men Tried To Steal Jewelry Cases From 3 Kmarts In Same Day
3 Men Targeted Countertop Cases In Cumberland County Stores
CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. -- Men who tried to steal jewelry cases from three Kmarts in Cumberland County on the same day have been caught, according to police.
The thieves seemed to have the same M.O. at every Kmart they tried to hit in the area. In each case, they did not get away with anything.
In one day, police said the men tried to steal jewelry cases from the Kmarts in Lower Paxton Township, Carlisle and Shippensburg Township.
At the last store, the manager told News 8’s Matt Barcaro that the men cut a wire that connected a spinning jewelry case to the counter. The case is about the size of a microwave. Another man had a shopping cart ready, but an employee realized what was going on and approached them.
The men ran away and were caught this week in Martinsburg, W.V., after another attempted Kmart theft in that town. Anthony Davis, of Philadelphia, is in jail in West Virginia on charges of attempted theft.
Reports from police in West Virginia said one of the other men was released and they are still looking for the third man.

They obviously picked the wrong Kmarts. The one nearest me never has any employees on the floor. I think you could walk out of there with an entire department and not get caught
I got a feeling this was one of those "Hey, hold my beer and watch this" moments
no one who's sober tries to rob jewelry from a K Mart....THREE frickin' times....I'm drunk right now and wouldn't do it.....well, unless you double dared me
