I haven't seen or heard much buzz about this anywhere, so I thought I'd share in case you're looking for good music and fun next weekend. I'm not a club member, but it's an open invite. Here's the info:

The Chicago Parrothead Club will sponsor “Party in Parrotdise” at Key Lime Cove Resort and Water Park in Gurnee on April 16 & 17. This is the club's major fundraiser of the year, with proceeds from the event going to the American Cancer Society and the Alzheimer’s Association. For those guests who wish to make a weekend of it, the fun will begin on Friday night with the pre-party in the Crazy Toucan Bar with Todd Donnelly of Mr. Myers on the steel drums. On Saturday afternoon, we will warm up to the music of Frank Whiting from Local Favorite Band, also in the Crazy Toucan.

The main event will feature music by the Boat Drunks on Saturday night beginning at 8:00 PM, with doors opening at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $15 in advance (contact Todd McPencow for tickets) or $20 at the door. There will be a silent auction, raffles and prizes as well as the entertainment. The public is invited - don't miss this Party with a Purpose!

For anyone wishing to reserve a room, the resort is offering a Parrothead rate of $149 per night for up to 4 people in one room, which includes four passes to the water park.
