Have you ever owned one of these cars?

Post by JollyMon66 »

MSN published an "all time worst cars" list today.
Perhaps one of your former cars is found on this list.
Funny reading...especially if you ever owned one of these babies.
Personally, I'd add the Mustang II to this list.

Found on this list are:

1971 Chevy Vega (didn't everyone make a beer run in a Vega?)
1978 Ford Pinto (big big bang)
1960 Chevy Corvair
1978-82 Fiat Strada (fix it again Tony)
1974 Chevy Vega (I guess Chevy couldn't get it right!)
1973 Truimph Stag (looks cool though)
a Yugo Korval (like they needed to ID any one Yugo model)
1984 Pontiac Fiero (my brother had one - total piece of S**T)
a Trabant (an East German car apparently built by a communist workforce)
1974 Mazda RX-2 (Wenkel anybody? Traditional pistons are a thing of the past)
2002 Plymouth Prowler (very cool looking but don't step on the highway in traffic)

I had a blue Pinto station wagon that was given to me, while I was still in high school. I killed it in about a month.
I also had one of these, and it should be on that list...

a 1984 Renault Fuego. Mine was silver and black and an old girlfriend thought it looked like the car from "Back to the Future".....I'm glad it's "Back in the Past" now...what a piece of S**t!!!

We had an avocado green '72 Vega when we first got married. We traded it pretty fast.

A college roommate of mine had a Vega - not sure of the year anymore - but I do remember needing to open the passenger door with a good kick from the inside. Twenty plus years removed from college - I'm not sure any of us would have the flexability to swing a leg around to kick the door!

I had a pinto that I owned at the time of the recall - I actually loved that car. I ended up trading it for a El Camino SS; saw it still being driven several years later.

I also had a pontiac fiero for about 4 hours; my live in b/f's father was trying to get me to buy it (he was a used car dealer) I told him no way - no how.
Well...(said in my best Bubba voice) I've been on sabbatical.

Trabants, made out of coated plywood. you were more likely to die from splinters than inertial issues in a crash.

I have fond memories of the Mustang II. My buddy's mother had one...you would think with a name like "MUSTANG" it would have something. Truth be told, we had trouble squeeling the tires on this pooch. We did ride it pretty hard when given the opportunity however. Ah those were the days.....

I had a red 84 Pontiac Fiero with the head lights always open and I liked it.
Only problem for me was, as a teen I had nowhere to put my 12 inch woofers.

Ohh!!! My '74 copper colored Vega Stationwagon! (bought from my BIL in '86!) Many, Many beer and jersey shore runs in that car (Vera Vega!). Always carried a case of oil with me due to the cracked block! I miss that car.

My first car was a light blue Corvair, fortunately I never had any problems with it and never found out what pieces of junk they were til long after it was gone!

Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa. I had a 1979 Pinto. I bought it
brand new and it was supposed to be an improvement over the "explode on
impact" 1978 model. Starting leaking oil like crazy in less than 4 years. Other
than that, not too bad. :pirate:
