As many of you know, I'm a public school teacher. With the economy the way it has been lately, everyone is on edge with the worry of losing their job. Morale is at an all-time low. As a member of our social committee, we discussed trying to plan more "non-school related" social activities to help with morale. As any good Parrothead would do, I suggested organizing trips to happy hour once a month. We're gonna go somewhere for after-school drinks on the 3rd Thursday of every month. I'm calling it "Third Thirsty Thursdays" I have a friend that teaches at another school that has a group they call the "Poets Society". Poets stands for "p*** On Education Tommorrow's Saturday" So, we decided that we need a code name that we can use in front of students and parents. You fellow Parrotheads go any ideas?

I'll see if I can come up with anything, but I wish you luck. After years of trying to organize stuff like that, only to have people constantly bail, I gave up. Then they complained that we never did anything.

Where my daughter teaches, it's called the Book Club, but there is a lot more wine than books!

How about the Yacht Club. Only you have boat drinks instead of, you know, actual boats.

Since this involves a group of educators and let's face it there are smart people and quite honestly stupid people in this world and part of our economic woes are the result of stupid people - how about "FOCUS". You could be having a FOCUS meeting at your local tapping establishment.
