For those who might be interested. :)

Today, DIRECTV launches its Whole-Home DVR service for customers nationwide after completing a two-month pilot program in four markets. This innovative multi-room viewing technology enhances the home video experience by enabling customers to share recorded content with any TV in their home connected to an HD receiver.

With a single DIRECTV HD DVR and Whole-Home DVR service, our customers will be able to:

· Record, delete, pause and rewind shows from any room with an HD receiver
· Start watching a recorded show in one room and finish in another
· Manage a combined playlist
· Record two shows while watching two others
· Set separate parental control options for each TV to ensure only appropriate recorded content is shared

For more information, visit directv.com/wholehome.

Please keep in mind that customer requests for Whole-Home DVR installation will take priority over employee requests. If you select this service, the installation of your upgrade will be completed as soon as feasible in balance with customer orders.

*Whole-Home DVR service counts as your annual complimentary “receiver” upgrade. If you need new receivers on your account in order to enjoy Whole-Home DVR service, you will need to order and pay for the required equipment.

Penny, any word yet on when the DIRECTV TIVO DVR will be on the market? I've heard mid 2010.

Is this an employee thing? Or is it available to the unwashed masses? I'd love to upgrade to HD but don't really want to shell out $300 (or $200 or whatever it is) for a new receiver.

Nope, it's for everyone. :) There was also info for the employees, and I missed deleting that line.

Thanks Penny. Don't know if I'll go back to DIRECTV or not. The problem I had was loss if signal during bad weather, just when I'd like to see the radar and know about warnings.
