My story from the drunks at the concert files:
This one is from Greatwoods parking lot after a show while waiting to exit the place. Myself and three friends were in my car waiting in looooooooong line of cars crawling toward the parking lot exit. I was driving and we were all discussing which songs from the shows we liked etc. All of a sudden a very drunk guy comes up to the open drivers window and says he knows me! I took me almost a minute to realize he was a friend of my younger brother. Anyway after I brief conversation this drunken idiot starts to walk away from my car towards the car in front of mine.
I turned to the two friends of mine sitting in the back seat of my car to tell them who the drunken idiot was. As I was explaining the identity of the idiot there was sudden loud thud on the hood of my car. I jumped and then looked in absolute shock to see the drunken idiot had passed out on the hood of my @#$%^& car. So I had to put the car in park causing the traffic behind me to have to wait, to remove my unwanted hood ornament. It took three of the four us to move this six foot two inch 240 pound jackass from my car.
We care set him down in a small patch of grass and then got back in the car as fast as humanly possible. We then made haste getting out of there after that.

You would think with him basically giving his shows away, on Ustream, and Radio Margaritaville, that he wouldnt mind. I guess you never know .
Although, a world famous musician, on a stage at a venue that allows camera's , can't be too anti camera .. I think he makes the house rules , If im not mistaken .
I believe it was probably for that particular show or venue. It sounds like it was in a small venue with audience members only a few feet away. If there was no intense stage lighting, a bunch of flashes going off in his face would be very distracting. If people took pics without the flash, assuming their camera supported that, he would probably be okay with that.

Just out of curiosity, why would you take pictures if you were told that it annoyed Jimmy?
Also, I know that you are in law enforcement, but why should a security guard have the right to move a patron up to the front row?

That's a question you should ask the security guard who gave us the wristbands, and the bodyguard who gave him the nod, not me. We were asked if we would like to be moved up, and we were more than happy to oblige Had he said not asked, We would have been content with our 2nd row seats. Letting the 3 seats in the front row go unused.
I said that being in Law Enforcement has taught me how to talk to people, in a certain way, whether they be a bodyguard to a musician, or a sick teenager on drugs.
I'm entitled to nothing more than a seat in row B, I was lucky enough to be recognized and moved up to Row A.
Perhaps you should try being polite sometime. You may be able to move up to Row A as well, not just at a concert , but in Happiness ..
I was told about the photo's thing in passing by someone also taking pictures.
Cheers.
Sean

I am not sure why you would think that I am not happy.

They're great pics, Sean. Thank you for sharing them, and your story.

I think you handled the whole thing very well.

Two years ago the security guy (It was either GW or Raleigh I can't remember now) could see I was having a hard time being next to the speakers - especially when Sonny Landreth was playing - for some reason his sound is so sharp it feels like it's piercing my head. ANYWAY He motioned me into the 3rd row away from the side and the big speakers. I didn't ask, he just noticed that I seemed to be having a tough time and that I wasn't a lunatic . On St Barth our group was very respectful and made sure we weren't in the way while they were setting up and Charleston and Mike and the rest of the guys had no problem with us staking out the front row. If they see you more than a couple of times and you're friendly and sensitive to their needs they treat you well.

Great Pics! I love the one of Jimmy, Mac, Peter and Sonny all in a row jamming.... Priceless. I couldn't quite get the same view from the lawn.
For what its worth, I enjoyed your story and did not think it was holier than thou...

Great pics Sean! The towel with the figure of the nun with the caption "Sister Mary Martini" was funny! I had cocktail napkins a few years ago that had "Sister Mary Margarita" on them.....they were a big hit. Wish I could find that towel.

Great shots. We were 15 rows behind you at Cinci and what a great show. We also were on the front row center at Anguilla and it is pretty special and you get few shots at that these days with Jimmy. Some of your pics are so good, they are going on the wall of the man Cave. Thanks
