You gotta love Snopes! I use them all the time when my mother sends me and 100 other people her "true" stories that have been circulating for years on the internet. I cite the article from Snopes, send her the link and reply to every single person she sent the original email to just to make a point.

She has since stopped sending me junk.

I have sent people to Snopes many times. The last time was to a guy I was in the Navy with. He got really p*** at me and won't have anything to do with me anymore. I used to think he was a smart guy on an even keel but I think now maybe he's slipped a bit.

I also know people who will tell you right to your face that Snopes is a bunch of bullshrimp and you can't trust anything they say. (I've read all the articles and I believe they are as honest and true as any other such site)
