Zak Brown Band vs. Ilo
I was thinking of this the other day who will be bigger long term. Ilo or ZBB.
Clearly ZBB is really popular now with all country fans and parrot heads but could this continue to grow.
ILO is still pretty much unknown still after two years. However he has the backing of the CRB. However when CRB band plays solo shows they are generally small shows.
I think ZBB will be bigger nationally but I'm not to sure what to think when it comes to the parrot heads. What do you all think.

Re: Zak Brown Band vs. Ilo
I'm not sure the two should be compared to or vs each other.
With Zac Brown I do not think that two tropical flavored songs constitute trop rocker.
I'm not crazy about the rest of their songs or the bluegrass stuff.
Ilo while necessarily does not have tropical subjects. I can feel it in his music. Musically he reminds me of a few songs I've heard by Peter Mayer. Also far as I know Ilo does not have a full album out yet...does he? I have the EP.
In the end though it does not matter to me who gets more famous or sells the most.
It's about what I like.

Buffett has 2 Ts. Zac has just a C, no K.

I think you're right, 2 songs doesn't make a career.
Also remember, slow and steady wins the race.
Ilo is an amazing talent. I'm not sayin' that Zach Brown isn't talented, i just think sometimes over exposure can be a a downfall.

Re: Zak Brown Band vs. Ilo
I like all/both of these guys.
Not because Jimmy likes them tho!
I like Jack Johnson too... If anyone can remember that far back in the old tours!
For me, Ilo and Zac would have been un-noticed if Jimmy had not brought them to attention, and I like them both now for very different reasons. Clearly, the CMT Show gave Zac a super boost, and maybe Ilo should think about that but it does not seem like is his style...
I will be going to the Zac and Jack shows that are scheduled here in Raleigh, coming soon!
And, Ilo? Already seen ya like 6 times this year... with and without Jimmy! ...and looking forward to seeing ya again!
So what is the name of that song we all call "Stranger"??? I gotta know!

Re: Zak Brown Band vs. Ilo
My bad on the typo cause i stink at typing.
But i would not call ZBB as trop rockers. They are a great band and the blue grass stuff is awsome. But they give off the feel good vibes as Buffett.
I agree ILO is more rock and roll but its great none the less.

Re: Zak Brown Band vs. Ilo
What's frightening is that as a kid I had Bay City Roller trading cards. (Of course I had no one to trade them with...)

My Favorite ZBB songs are not even the Trop ones..
Michael.. try "Whatever it is" and off the new CD
try "Colder Weather"
BTW the fade on the live version of "Where the Boats" into "one love" is classic..
