whether they lift it or not, it's on my list of places to sail to when we sail down to the Caribbean...I have considered getting my Canadian citizenship back so i could travel on that passport. I have Canadian friends who say the diving is fantastic, it's inexpensive and the island isn't nearly as commercial as the rest of the islands.

I have been told going to Cuba is like taking a trip back 30-50 years. Bars that still make drinks by hand chipping ice from a big block. I've said for a long time that we needed to be firm with Cuba but needed to find a way to loosen up the restrictions a bit. If restrictions are lifted that could be bad news for the cigar guys who have made a fortune on getting "illegal" cigars into the states. I think we would consider a trip.

There
are ways to go, no passport required.
But yes, we're in, can't wait to go.

Damnit Santa you forgot boobies (should have added boobies to strippers making stripper boobies

)- it has to have boobies on it to be an official BN poll!!!
Hell yes I'll go if it opens up!!! Like KK said - it's on the list.

I don't know if it will happen or not, but I'd be in favor of it.

Correct me if I am wrong but aren't you allowed to travel to Cuba as a Canadian citizen?

When communism/the Castro regime is out, I'm ready. I would love to see it before it goes totally commercial, too.

My daughter & her husband honeymooned there: cheap, friendly, good rum.

Not going to be legal any time soon. The anti-Castro lobby is too strong. Republicans have to be against it when the pinko commie democrats are in power. The whole situation is kinda crazy when you consider we have opened relations with Viet Nam, we kiss the buttocks of the largest and very repressive communist regime (China) and the cold war with the Soviet Union ended years ago. I hope to get there before the ban is lifted. American tourists tend to ruin any great destination.

It's on my list for two reasons ... I want to see Hemingway's place and I want to try a handmade Mojito.

I would love to go and hope it opens to tourism, even though it would probably mean a huge hit to the economy of Key West, but keep this is mind. The number that was floated around years and years ago was $1 Billion, as in that's how much the casino operators of the USA were willing to/looking to spend in Cuba if it opened up. That figure has got to be much, much higher by now. If Raoul Castro has half a brain (which is being generous I grant you) he'll see the writing on the wall and line up contacts and contracts with the gaming and hotel concerns so that the moment Congress says yes, ground breaks, and the Cuba we all hope to see will get bulldozed over.
