I was also at that show where the shark was "surfing" down to JB. It was my husband's 25 b-day. Fats Domino went on before JB. It was quite a bit ago, but I thought the shark was at least 40ft long.
Does anybody remember the show where it rained incessantly the whole weekend? All the mud slides in the lawn. Fireworks in the rain. Buckeye Lake was a great venue. I saw JB and Grateful Dead there several times. I just wish it was still there.
ps:If anyone would be kind enough,I too would love to get a copy of that show.

We were about 50yds from the fiery volcano. We thought it was supposed to happen that way at first but soon saw differently. Have you seen any shows at the Polaris? I can't say I like that venue too well. We went once to the Polaris and decided to try some other place to phlock, like Cincy,Indianapolis, and Chicago.

The mud bowl was the next to last show at Buckeye Lake. There will never be another concert there.
Going by memory which is not always accurate, I thought the giant shark and the burning volcano were two different shows. I was at every Buckeye Lake show and went to all the good concerts from the time it first opened as "Legend Valley". Fantastic venue except the parking s***ed. The tailgating was superior though. We stayed overnight several times and those were great times. I had to help 10-15 cars out of the mud (mudbowl) before we could leave. That was an interesting concert. When I was down by the sound board the water/mud was almost up to my waist. Polaris does not have very good tailgating, although they have loosened up lately, but the venue blows Riverbend away in my opinion. Not the party, but the venue.

Everyone is accurate concerning the shark, Buckeye Lake Music Center is still there, rumors were that Jimmy would return...not likely...not sure why. Had a chance to speak briefly with Peter M. and asked about JB coming back to the lake, his only reply was, "35,000 parrotheads, how can you go wrong?".
Polaris is awful, but will always be in the crowd when JB is in town.

I have a lot of family that live on Buckeye Lake and have been told the shows at that venue were priceless. I have even heard he made brief stops to drinking establishments on the lake post concert. It's to bad he moved to a Columbus venue. I would not miss it if he returned.
