Need a boat drink recipe
Hey All,
Karacal and I will be attending our PHC meeting next month, where they are having a boat drink fundraiser and we need your help.
Does anyone have a recipe that you can mix up ahead of time, and will still taste as good as when you mixed it? There can be no mixing on the premise, so we have to bring them pre-mixed.
They are charging $5 a 16oz drink, so need something worth the $$.
Thanks for any ideas and recipes!

Re: Need a boat drink recipe
This summer, when not drinking margaritas, I've been cooling off with this:
Equal parts: Captain Morgan Spiced Rum, Peachtree Schnapps, Sweet and Sour Mix, and
Cranberry Juice.
No on site mixing needed, just premake, give a little shake, pour over ice and enjoy.

Not that I know of. I picked the recipe up a while ago at a Captain Morgan tasting.

Re: Need a boat drink recipe
This depends on how soon from mixing to serving you have. Don't want the fizzy stuff to get too flat.
"Killer Punch"
1.75 liter (2 fifths) 90 proof Southern Comfort
6 C Cranberry juice
2 qts. 7-up
2 C fresh lemon juice (8-10 lemons)
2 dashes bitters
4 bottles dry Brut champagne
It's sneaks up on ya.

Re: Need a boat drink recipe
I wonder if we mix it all except the champagne and 7up which we can pour right before we go in? Has to last 2 hours.SMLCHNG wrote:This depends on how soon from mixing to serving you have. Don't want the fizzy stuff to get too flat.

You betcha. It's lasted at parties our family has had. Don't put ice in the punch bowl, have it in another bucket.BahamaBreeze wrote: I wonder if we mix it all except the champagne and 7up which we can pour right before we go in? Has to last 2 hours.

Re: Need a boat drink recipe
I've got one I've been playing with at work, the problem is it's mixed with tonic water, and so if you can't add that at the event, you run the risk of the drink being flat, but here goes:dnw wrote:Jack can probably give you a good boat drink recipe.
.75 oz Light Rum (I use Flor de Cana 4 year, but Bacardi will work.)
.75 oz Myers's Rum
.5oz Almond Syrup (Should be able to find at your grocery store.)
1 oz Pineapple juice
Shake and strain into a 12oz glass filled with ice. Top with tonic water, garnish with a lime. If you want to get nuts, when you're shaking the drink, throw a little fresh thyme in there (no joke, it makes the drink go from "hey this is pretty tasty" to "Holy crap, this is awesome!!")
Take me for what I am, a star newly emerging.

The only thing is we could mix this up and have to add the pineapple juice to taste to the mixture before, but that would work. Thanks Nancy!
