favorite surf song?
Ok, so every time surfing in a hurricane is played I admit I am dancing in the car, kitchen, work or wherever. I love that surf guitar groove and I think Peter Mayer does a superb job on this song. So I know some other great surf style songs but lets start a post about your favorite surf style songs. Thanks and as always enjoy!

Cool posts....after watching another season of "Shark Week" not sure I'm returning to the water
Great Whites love seals and surfers on boards are often mistaken for seals. I hear bigger sharks will take a walrus as well...that scares me.

Re: favorite surf song?
I suppose my answer is a bit obvious....and possibly many are tired of it...but I gotta go with Dick Dale's Misirlou.
I saw him perform about 5-years ago, it was frikkin amazing. He's so talented, played guitar (of course) but then trumpet too. He was very energetic at what must have been about 68 yeras old....much like Jimmy still is, every show.
I'll never tire of that song, or any of his others.

Re: favorite surf song?
speaking of Misirlou, Dick Dale and Gary Hoey did an awesome version of it on the Music for Our Mother Ocean II cd, if you get a chance...take a listen to it. It's where I first got turned onto Gary Hoey who is another awesome surf guitarist. Here he is doing "Wipeout" and "Pipeline"~Hippolyte~ wrote:I suppose my answer is a bit obvious....and possibly many are tired of it...but I gotta go with Dick Dale's Misirlou.

Off the Surfing with the Alien......
Did you hear the one about me being a punk?
Did you hear the one about me being a drunk?
Did you hear the one about me losing my nerve?
Or how I'm just another f**** sheep in the herd?
Did you hear the one about me giving a s***?
Cause if I ever did I don't remember it.

Re: favorite surf song?
Thanks, conched, for that clip of Wipeout. I've not heard that version before, and the video is definitely an added bonus.
Here's a surf-like song I've been rather fond of...mainly because of the harmonies in the chorus.
