Brett Michaels & Jimmy Buffett: Margaritaville

Post by cajunpirate »

I've hunted through the forums and I'm sure I missed it, but just in case there is not a post here, over in iTunes is the Margaritaville single with Jimmy Buffett and Brett Michaels. It's truly just for the parrotheads, but what kills me is all the negative repsonses to the single there. Funny thing is you have to purchase the item before you can comment. Why would they buy it if they didn't want it, just to post a negative review?

Is it the most incredbile version of Margaritaville ever? No. Is it just another fun version that fans of Jimmy would like? Absolutely. For $1.29, I'm enjoying it.

D'oh!

Oh well. Not the end of the world. Free is always better, but a buck and change ain't the end of the world. At least others who haven't gotten it yet can get for free. Thanks for sharing that!

I'm glad I listened to it before downloading or purchasing it because it was terrible!

Don't get me wrong, I like Brett Michaels (well except for that wig/bandanna thing) but the thought of Brett and Jimmy together made me throw up in my mouth a little.
Well...(said in my best Bubba voice) I've been on sabbatical.

It was pretty bad but I think it's better than last year when Joe Perry played guitar on Margaritaville at the Toyota Park show. It sounded like a little kid just learning how to play, he was awful.

Joe Perry or Brett Michaels, pick your poison. :pirate:

All of these guests he has had in the past few years has not lived up to the time when he shared the stage with Clint Black for a few shows back in 2000.
Did you hear the one about me being a punk?
Did you hear the one about me being a drunk?
Did you hear the one about me losing my nerve?
Or how I'm just another f**** sheep in the herd?
Did you hear the one about me giving a s***?
Cause if I ever did I don't remember it.

I was at the Detroit show where Bret Michaels made his appearance. Was it the best version of Margaritaville I have ever heard? Absolutely not, and even though Margaritaville is the National Anthem of Parrotheadness, IMHO, it is not in my list of favorite JB songs! It was fun to be there to see this happen.

Wow. David Crosby & Jimmy singing Southern Cross. Now that's a single I'd love to see/hear!
