Not sure if he is chipped, but his tags had been taken off for the night. There was company and he slipped out.

I'm confused about taking the tags off for the night. Why? Bailey wears hers 24/7. In fact if you take her "bling" off she gets upset. On a side note she also has a silver locket that once held our picture it it. Now it's just a little blur. Don gave it to her for valentines day one year. [smilie=battingeyes.gif]  So she really does have bling.

Love the idea of the locket! Mine wear theirs 24/7 except post bath because the collars get washed too. Something comforting about clinking tags while they are scratching.

Oh dear! Tons of phin power for the critter's safe return.

Amber has an Amber pendant on her collar, Nutmeg has a turquoise pendant. So far Domino just has her ID tags, but I am looking for an onyx pendant that will suit her. The only time the collars come off are when we give Amber and Meg their fluids. And no they aren't spoiled either

What kind of fluids do they get that needs their collars coming off?
I hope she finds her baby. Phin power. Tell her to get some signs up with photos. It helps. There have been two missing pets found here recently and I think part of the success was the owners rigorous sign campaign with reward, even if it's small. Some people will keep an eye out if they see those signs.

I agree on the photo posters. There was a pom missing around here earlier this summer and his posters were everywhere. I was always on the lookout for the little tyke.

Amber and Meg get sub Q fluids twice a week. It is put under the skin in the neck area hence the collars need to come off. (They are 15 years old in and in early stages of renal failure) However with the fluids, they are both well and contented.

It seems that all of my cats are prone to urinary tract infections. Mostly they do well with the right food but sometimes it still flares up. When that happens I have to do the sub Q fluids. I am considering getting a fountain type water dish to encourage my current cat to drink more. This would help prevent the infection. Have you tried these? Cats don't naturally want to drink. They get their fluids from live kills. My cat won't eat canned food either so he really has a hard time getting fluids

Any news on the missing dog? (I'm assuming here that it is a dog)

OCG, I do have a fountain type water dish for Nutmeg. Amber doesn't use it but has a autowaterer that she likes. (it has what looks like a 2 liter bottle that dispenses water into a dish)

Nutmeg will only drink from the fountain or the faucet. (The fountain is a bear to clean, but I do it for her) They both like wet food and neither is prone to urinary infections. They are just elderly and the kidneys aren't functioning as well as before. Thank heavens Tom can do the needle thingie. Because I sure can't :o :o :o

I have a couple of drinkwells and they are great. But yes, they are a PITA to clean. I always have to clean out fur and food from the water intake area.
