Are Florida voters somehow involved?
I think CNN announced that Al Gore was declared
*official Dick's spokesman*,
but then they recalled the declaration
and it now might be Dubya Bush.
Stay tuned.

I used a capital "D" . . . .

Several elections ago, Congressman Norm Dicks was challenged by man named Jim Bever . . . . (no lie!)

The newspaper headline was "Bever challenges Dicks for House Seat." :)

OK so the North end wins the new Dicks. I just found out this weekend we're getting a new Pick Quick.

okay now I know what Seattle's own Sir Mixalot was talking about on his song "Posse on Broadway" back in 88:
"Taco Bell was closed, the girls were on my tip. They said go back the other way we'll stop and eat at Dicks.
Dicks is the place where the cool hang out. The swass like to play and the rich flaunt clout.
Posse to the burger stand, so big we walk in twos. We're gettin' dirty looks from those other sucker crews.
"

learn something new everyday.

Yeah that's the one from the video. I'm 40 years old but still listen to some of that old stuff.
We have Dick's Wings down here. I used to think that's what he was talking about.

Results just in from an Esquire Magazine poll. . . . "When we asked Eat Like a Man readers to name the most life-changing burger joint in a poll last week, we kinda figured the honor would go to one of the bigger chains: Steak 'n Shake, In-N-Out, Five Guys. The others were just outnumbered. Instead, the winner by a huge margin, with 56% of the votes, was Seattle-based Dick's Drive-In, which inspired more vocal burger love than any other place, even from some guy in Florida."

I am guessing the Intern writing that headline got to have a long conversation with the powers that be at the paper and his college advisor. (and then after the meeting, the adults had a good laugh)

Steak and Shake: Had my first one in Springfield, IL and when they got here, I have made a (more than a) few stops. Good burger, not life-changing, but good.
Five Guys: I honestly don't see what the fuss is. $12 for a basic burger/fries/Coke. have eaten there several times since we got them here. they are ok, but not life-changing.
In-And-Out: Good burger. after a bunch of tequila on a bus in Vegas, interesting conversation with a limo-driver/escort's "agent" waiting for the food. Really good burger. Not changing my life to become an escort's agent or limo-driver.

Haven't been in SEA for 12 years, and not a lot of chance of it short of lottery money and the "drive the 4 corners" idea. but, I would give it a shot if I am out there

Whataburger: some great stories, some good times with great friends, probably as life-affecting as a burger joint can be.
