Dicks Drive In is a Seattle area icon and we don't have one close enough to us.
BUT they are gonna build a new one and are letting us vote on the location (somewhat)

Right up there with DIRTY DICK'S CRAB SHACK and EAT BERTHA'S MUSSELS over in my neck of the woods.

And of course you can motorboat right up to HOOTERS in the Baltimore Inner Harbor and dock right there.

A little something about Dicks Drive In

You are now standing in front of Dicks Drive-In. Dicks Drive-In was opened in 1954 on 45th avenue and 2nd.

Dick: Well we were second the fast food restaurant to open in Washington or Oregon. The difficulty was finding a good location ...

When Dicks Drive-In finally opened, the very next day there was a blizzard and they had to close down for two days, but when they opened back up business was fine. They kept their menu the same over the years except for a few minor additions, and of course they kept their prices low.

At Dicks Drive-In their customers mean a lot to them.

Dick: If we don't treat our customers right and give them the service and quality food that they need..

The employees also mean a lot to them.

Dick: One of the things we do is we pay our people $8.50 an hour and after 90 days they start getting $9.00 an hour...

Dicks also encourages many young people to go to college by offering a very generous scholarship.

Dick: If they work for us for six months then they can go to Community College...

Even though they have no plans to change their menu they do plan to remodel.

Dick: We have plans underway and this is the scoop...

Speaking of scoops, Dick's also has ice cream. They make their ice cream by hand. The only mechanical help they get is from the old-fashioned mixers.

For 50 years, Dicks Drive-In has been a Seattle icon - welcoming folks to Wallingford, providing workers with scholarship, and feeding the locals. I recommend ordering a vanilla milkshake and some of their famous fries.
