How long from downtown SF to SFO airport?

I'll be taking the BART or a cab from downtown SF to SFO airport to make a 7:05pm flight. What time do I need to leave downtown?

I'm thinking by 4 you should be okay. That allows you an hour to make a 30 minute drive during traffic time, plus the 2 hours before flight thingie I always hear and somewhat adhere to.

depemding on how far the BART station is I would go that way.
Mal you can pull up the BART schedule and it is prety accurate..
since I don't know where you are I can't give you an idea as to which station you will be at..

I'll be staying at a hotel near union square and departing on a Tuesday. The conference is supposed to close at 4pm so I'll probably make sure I take the closest BART to that time. I just don't want to have to stay a whole extra night.

SWEEET. BART stop is just a block from the hotel and will get me to the airport with plenty of time and I shouldn't have to leave the conference early. Won't have luggage to check so yay me!

will there be another gay pride parade blocking traffic in the Castro?
will there be any of those wacky liberal rallies for that commie/pinko Sen. Barbara Boxer causing traffic to back up on the 101?
Are there any unbelievable natural/un-natural disasters occurring? ...again?

If the answer to above possible conditions is "no", ... I'd still allow 90 minutes to travel those 10 miles at that hour

not on BART.. driving?? I would say. give yourself 24 hours..

Depends on what day you're leaving. SF 101 south "usually" isn't that bad, but airport security SUX. Nothing worse than racing for a flight. Well, I'm sure there is, but dammn I hate doing it for a living.

Will you have time to hit some of the good places off Union Square or is it all business all the time? Ya know people come from Paris to vacation in SF
