Igor: [Imitating Groucho Marx] "Soitenly. You take the blonde, I'll take the one in the turban."
I still travel with too much luggage (thanks to the guitar) to be able to fly into KW.Dr.Corona wrote:AirTran biggest carrier here at the local Int'l Airport....
Good News.......Southwest doesn't charge for bags......![]()
Bad News.........My experience is that AirTran usually runs cheaper rates than Southwest.![]()
So I'm expecting to NOT have to pay for baggage BUT paying more for my actual trip.
You can do that already with other airlines...aeroparrot wrote:I agree with Jen but Logan to Key West direct?
There's a bike path for most of it, but for some you'll be riding in the breakdown lane.Bicycle Bill wrote:Just out of idle curiosity, are bicycles allowed on the Overseas Highway from the mainland to Key West? I realize that it probably isn't recommended but I am an experienced cyclist, and since getting to Key West is already on my bucket list, I thought maybe I could figure out a way to do it with my bicycle.

The predictions are that fares will go up. As you speculate, less competition means fewer "fare wars".SchoolGirlHeart wrote:Not sure if this is good or bad. In a lot of markets the AirTran/Southwest competition kept fares lower. With that competition gone I wonder what will happen...
I'm hearing the same thing. Also hearing that SW will get a bunch of gates out of Reagan National.popcornjack wrote:The predictions are that fares will go up. we have Jet Blue starting in Dec. so that should help with keeping fares somewhat down.....we don't have air tran here.....and what it cost for gas and to park in Boston or New York.....still cheaper out of Hatford!!SchoolGirlHeart wrote:Not sure if this is good or bad. Tommy, get a JetBlue AMEX card - I've taken a LOT of free trips to concerts etc. For a while I used it to even buy groceries and then just paid it back. I went to St Maarten for $63 - the airport tax!TommyBahama wrote:we have Jet Blue starting in Dec. so that should help with keeping fares somewhat down.....we don't have air tran here.....and what it cost for gas and to park in Boston or New York.....still cheaper out of Hatford!!SchoolGirlHeart wrote:Not sure if this is good or bad.
