...besides me find that Freedom Flask ad on the home page totally gross? I'm not a prude by any means, but really that ad is disgusting.

I don't necessarily find it 'disgusting'. My objection to it runs more along the lines that all it does is reinforce the image that the only reason Parrotheads go to a concert is for the party beforehand, and that we need to drink so badly that we will resort to almost any means to smuggle alcohol past security.

Of course there are some people like that, who drink to the point where they can't tell who is on stage, but that is not the way of most Parrotheads I've met. A true Parrothead is a responsible Parrothead.

Perhaps whoever is in charge of these boards could respectfully decline such ads in the future.

Um, no, I gotta say, I don't find it disgusting. Like BB said, somewhat disturbing, the idea that you've already been tailgating or pre-partying and feel the need to sneak in booze, but not (to me) disgusting.

Besides, I might be wrong but I'd be pretty sure that phjim doesn't control what ads pop up on the home page.

I find the picture disgusting............and while I've worked in the medical environment for so many years, I still don't like seeing someones colostomy bag, and that's what it looks like every time I see it.

The idea however is no big deal to me.

The drinks would get awfully warm.

Maybe I'm old-fashioned but what happened to wine botas (sp)? They hang around your torse instead of in your pants. Or even just flasks?

I did do a double take, at first I thought it was something so you wouldn't have to go PEE, which really WOULD have been gross.

They already got 'em. "Astronaut diapers", which first came to the public's attention when Lisa Nowak went bat-sh*t crazy and tried to kidnap the girlfriend of a fellow (male) astronaut back in 2007.

Or browse through the "incontinence" supplies in the H&B section of any MallWart store. The stuff there would probably work as well.

I know, and I'm not trying to discount people with incontinence problems but if you're such a slack ass and you drink so much at a concert that you can't even manage to get yourself to a port o potty or even the woods then you have more problems than you think - I guess that's what I mean by gross.

I personally wouldn't use one (ick), but the really obscene part is what they charge for a beer inside a venue.

A lot of venues do a pretty good pat down and would easily find anything around your torso but I doubt anyone's going to pat down that part of someone's body...

I was subjected to a pretty solid pat down at at the ZBB show at Great Woods. Everything in my pockets was checked and about the only places that weren't patted down were between the girls and in the nether regions....

I just thought it was stupid looking. I've used much more imaginative ways
of smuggling booze. Besides, by the time the show starts I usually have enough
alcohol inside me.

I used to have a lei that had fruits on it that filled with rum but I never did use it. After boozing all day I don't need any for the concert. "Usually" that's when the natural high starts and I sober up. I don't find it disturbing. I never would have seen it if not for this thread because I just have the forum in my faves. It takes a lot to offend me. You should've seen the website I was just at.
