It's the song "A Salty Piece of Land." Good song, but a pain in the butt to have 1 song on a CD!

Agreed, but I do like the song.

I still don't understand why JB named his 2005 tour "A Salty Piece of land" and never played the song??????? [smilie=hello.gif]

In fact, to my knowledge, he's never played the song anywhere live........another JB mystery! :pirate:

According to the setlist database he's played A Salty Piece Of Land live twice - on The Today Show on 11/30/2004 when he was plugging the book of the same name (he did Christmas In The Caribbean too) and the Coastal Confessions show from New Orleans that was simulcast in theaters around the country on 12/8/2004.

The book, "A Salty Piece of Land", was published in November 2004, and the "Salty Piece of Land" tour was in 2005. Since he had already named his 2004 tour after his newest album ("License to Chill", released in July 2004), perhaps in 2005 he was touring in support of the book, not the individual song.
And if that's the case, then maybe we should be thankful that the 2008 tour ("The Year of Still Here") wasn't called the "Swine Not?" tour..... [smilie=cheeky-grin.gif]

I removed one song and included A Salty Piece Of Land on my media player for License To Chill since the song was recorded for that album. I like it in there but it doesn't really fit the overall mood of the LP.

It is a mystery as to why he didn't bother to play the song on the tour. It's a great song. The CD single should have charted rather well since it "sold" so many copies. I don't know the first issue book sales but I would think the book with the record sold a pretty good amount - possibly his highest "selling" single ever?
