I should probably check out the X Men movies but I think as far as theatrical releases Thor is probably next on my list. Most folks haven't had very favorable things to say about the Hangover and Pirates sequels.sonofabeach wrote:We just saw X Men First Class. It was great....much better than I was thinking it would be. There's nothing after the credits this time.
both were "how do we get rent money for xxxxx (cast member) or a new car for Michael Bay" kinda thingTiki Torches wrote:I should probably check out the X Men movies but I think as far as theatrical releases Thor is probably next on my list. That's my new pet peeve now at the movies. It's distracting when someone starts texting or updating their facebook status. The bright lights really stands out in a movie theater. Can't people go anywhere without being slaves to their phones?Tiki Torches wrote:I'd love to see more theatres employ a no texting/no cellphone usage policy. Reminds me of those that go to concerts just to chit-chat throughout the entire performance.
I'm sure I'm in the minority but before entering a concert venue or movie theatre I either shut my phone down completely or at least set it to vibrate. I have so many friends that stay glued to their phones constantly. I wonder what's so important on there that they'll even look during the middle of a face-to-face conversation. They seem to be clueless as to just how rude that is.sonofabeach wrote:That's my new pet peeve now at the movies. It's distracting when someone starts texting or updating their facebook status. I agree. I recently switched to a basic dumbphone with talking only. No texting, no internet, no contract.Tiki Torches wrote:I'm sure I'm in the minority but before entering a concert venue or movie theatre I either shut my phone down completely or at least set it to vibrate. Super 8 looks promising but I don't plan on fighting the opening night crowds tonight.sonofabeach wrote:back to movies, The Green Lantern is on my "to see" list now.

I have been counting down the days to this. Too bad my schedule isn't going to allow for it right away.Tiki Torches wrote:Super 8 looks promising but I don't plan on fighting the opening night crowds tonight.sonofabeach wrote:back to movies, The Green Lantern is on my "to see" list now.
Best to see it on an off night anyway. Theatres tonight will be full of nothing but texting, cellphone calling folks.maid memories wrote:I have been counting down the days to this. That's what I'm thinking. I may just put it off until I'm in Massachusetts on Thursday and can catch a show in the middle of a work day.Tiki Torches wrote:Best to see it on an off night anyway. That was good! Everyone was leaving, but made their way back in to watch it.Lightning Bolt wrote:caught a matinee today...sweet film. but you could count on your hand how many plot devices were obvious derivatives of earlier Spielberg films.
oh,...and be sure to stay right on through the credits for an entertaining treat

Caught this one because I wanted to find out about the X-Men series, and...oh, who am I kidding?!sonofabeach wrote:We just saw X Men First Class. It was not really on my "to see" list but my wife loves X Men.
