I just got this recipe---as soon as I get to the store, I going to try it and will let you know.

Easy Apple Cake

Ingredients
1 (9 oz.) box yellow cake mix
1 egg
1/2 cup water
1 tbsp. butter
1 large Macintosh apples
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 cup sugar
1 pint ice cream, flavor of your choice

Methods/steps
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 by 9-inch square cake pan (can use a disposable foil cake pan) with 1 tbsp. butter. Prepare cake mix as described on cake box, with 1/2 cup water and the egg. Peel and dice apple into small bits. Sprinkle apples with cinnamon and sugar and mix well. Pour cake batter into prepared cake pan. Spread apples on top of cake batter, evenly covering the entire top of the cake. ( I tend to put a little more towards the edges so that when the cake rises in the oven the apples don't fall to the center of the cake.). Bake 20 to 25 minutes. Best if served warm with ice cream. Very good at room temperature though

I made the cake today, but when I make it again, I will make some changes.
The recipe calls to change the recipe for the cake mix...I would follow the cake box directions.
The 1/2 water makes the batter really, really sticky and it took double the time to bake.

After I buttered the pan, I dusted it with cinnamon and sugar

The finished cake was really yummy :)

And one cake mix in a 9 x 9?
Do you think it would work in a bundt pan?

it filled the 9x9 so you might need 2 cake mixes for a bundt pan?
