Yea...that's pretty standard...and I was thinking about this the other day. Can you imagine how much it cost him to take the band to Australia? It can't be cheap....it's not like flying them to Boise or anything....

I'm wondering if part of the equipment is sent by boat?

Although - it can't be as expensive as the U2 tour....They have been touring for 1 year (US and Europe) and they won't even break even on this tour until the last leg of the US tour this summer)....

I think they use most of our equipment here - just bring their instruments etc ...

U2 or Buffett? Not sure about Buffett but U2 has a specially designed set...structure that takes 2 days to set up and 2 days to break down. Buffett ( if he continues with the BIg Top theme) may have to ship his set over. I don't know enough about anything else to speak knowledgably. I know one flight for me in coach would be $2500 to go...I'm sure he takes his own plane so there is no telling the cost per reefer. plus lodging, food, etc....

Cheapest flight from NY is $1600 but that's JFK-Charlotte-Chicago-LA-Sydney. A 1 stop flight is a little over $2200. Not that I was thinking of going anyway.
