It's been WAY too long since I have seen them live. Need to change that![/quote
Feat is still THE BEST jam band out there..........
As for the jam band...Oh Yeah!!!...Zac Brown Band comes close but in a different way.
Really?
I don't see it unless it is a VERY different way
It is a very different way. Hard to explain and to pick up unless it is live. I think it is the "country" part that turns some off.
But Zac can handle a guitar w/ almost anyone!!
I want to go back down and lie beside the sea there.

I can't say I've ever thought of Little Feat as a "jam" band. I don't care for the current version (no Lowell George=no Little Feat) but if you listen to Waitin' For Columbus you can hear them stretching out but it was more in a jazz fusion sort of way. In other words I'd never confuse them with Phish, the Grateful Dead, Widespread Panic, etc. Little Feat had their own very unique sound, one the current band comes nowhere close to replicating.

Did you hear Phish playing Waiting For Columbus for Halloween show?
and hear the say Little Feat influenced them?
and I'm going to agree to disagree with alot of you.

I've heard some of it and have no doubt they were influenced by Little Feat but what I'm saying is that I would never confuse the two. Led Zeppelin were also highly influenced by Little Feat and even said as much in interviews back in the 70s but it may not be something that's immediately evident by listening to their music. Years later Richie Hayward not only went on to play in Plant's band but also appears on his Shaken n' Stirred album.

Ditto....That's the beauty of music...especially live!!!
Heck...I just saw Garth Brooks live for the first time. Didn't know what to expect...He brought down the house...but in a COMPLETELY different way than a Little Feat, etc.
