Can people get sick from dogs?

Like, let's say a dog bites a person and the dog was a strep carrier or had strep. Could the dog infect the person w/ strep?

Wow Mal, I don't know. The only thing I can think that dog's spread is rabies.
I hope this is just theoretical and no one got bitten
Tony (my sweet baby boy who isn't much of a baby any more) was bit on the a$$ a few times during recess at school on Monday by a neighborhood dog who jumped the fence. Last night he spiked a fever and complained of sore throat. Today at doctor; strep. Doc said it was possible, but I'm not always trusting of doctors and figured someone at BN would know or had experienced it.nutmeg wrote:buffettbride wrote:Like, let's say a dog bites a person and the dog was a strep carrier or had strep. Just to be safe, I'd shoot the dog.buffettbride wrote:Tony (my sweet baby boy who isn't much of a baby any more) was bit on the a$$ a few times during recess at school on Monday by a neighborhood dog who jumped the fence. Without wanting to cause a stir here, the dog's future isn't looking too bright.big john wrote:Just to be safe, I'd shoot the dog.buffettbride wrote:Tony (my sweet baby boy who isn't much of a baby any more) was bit on the a$$ a few times during recess at school on Monday by a neighborhood dog who jumped the fence. At least the dog's owner finally came forward and you know the dogs shots are up to date. Too bad the owner was so damn irresponsible.buffettbride wrote:Without wanting to cause a stir here, the dog's future isn't looking too bright.big john wrote:Just to be safe, I'd shoot the dog.buffettbride wrote:Tony (my sweet baby boy who isn't much of a baby any more) was bit on the a$$ a few times during recess at school on Monday by a neighborhood dog who jumped the fence.
