Seriously?!?! 0-1?!? With those bats. Where is Ravi with his panic button!
Maybe they need to learn a few fundamentals....Varitek ( Sorry Jon) , had to make one of the most stupid mistakes last night, not knowing the situation , then, there was the great base running mistake to end the game today. I think teams are figuring out Bard, as they did with Papelbon.....A major league hitter will adjust to a straight fastball , i don't care how hard you throw.....you need to mix it up, and keep them off balance...i know, stating the obvious.

yes, they broke into the Sox/Yanks game and mentioned it. It was reported that he said he wasn't doing well the end of last season and so far this year...but then something was mentioned about what MLB had said to him about...some rule or finding...sorry I don't know the particulars. It seems like he's trying to cover something before he gets caught??? JMO.

The best hitter of my lifetime not named Albert just can't stop being a douche.

More importantly . . . the Red Sox win a game with John Lackey starting. This is significant because, in case you haven't heard, John Lackey is just not that good.

Red Sox win, Manny retires due to drugs, Yankees lose...not a bad way to end the day.

Say "good bye" Manny..........you were an exceptional talent, but at age 38 your antics were getting as old as you! :o

I don't know why Pap is still on the team. He got lit up on a regular basis last year. He only has one pitch, and hitters caught up to it a lot last year. Pitching wins ballgames.

i think his problem is ego...he does have a split finger, but rarley uses it....and again i choose him for my fantasy team..thank god they got rid of the blown save in our league

No hitter-Francisco Liriano.

2nd highest ERA ever for a pitcher who threw one.
He walked 6, struck out 2, and got helped by a very bad call at 1B in the 7th.
Ugliest no-no since Edwin Jackson, who was, ironically, his opponent last night!!

Tim Lincecum breaks Christy Mathewson's double-digit strikeout record in Giants' 2-0 win over Mets

Lincecum pitched as if he owned this pitcher's park, baffling and frustrating the Mets for seven shutout innings in the Giants' 2-0 victory in front of a crowd that was announced by the Mets at 29,333. Lincecum struck out 12, the 29th time in his career he's had 10-plus strikeouts in a game, eclipsing the club record for double-digit strikeout starts held by Christy Mathewson.

The Mets struck out 16 times overall.

On the post game show they said Christy took 500 plus starts to get his record.

My Orioles have now settled into their rightful place at the bottom of the AL East for the rest of the season and, most likely, eternity until the ownership of the team changes...... [smilie=grrrrrr.gif]

I'm afraid that Buck Showalter's "magic" cannot overcome players who cannot pitch or hit..........

In the most recent series where Tampa Bay swept the O's at home, there was a game where the Rays' pitchers walked 10 Baltimore batters and they still could only muster 2 runs. I'm convinced that right now the way things are going the Orioles would somehow fail to score even if they received 4 consecutive walks..... :o

Don't worry, the way the Sox are playing, the O's won't be down there for long!
