Now that we're all done psycho-analyzing and disecting the Yankees (

),
The 2012 team schedules are out.
RED SOX @ CUBS June 15, 16, & 17, 2012. THAT might be a road trip worth making.

hmmm...i'm due for a Chicago Trip!!!.....and, how great would it be if Theo is the Cubs GM ( even though reports have him turning it down) and Francona is the new Manager!!
i didn't disect the Yankees loss.....i said they would lose the series...i think the Tigers had better pitching.

YOU didn't, Tommy-a couple others did, which is an annual ritual for them, and, to be honest, I find it quite amusing.
You, however, being from the area (you did hear CT is part of NYC, right-

), feel free to chip away at them, even though the Mets are your team. (They'll be at Wrigley Field the Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday after Memorial Day-I'd have to go back and see what those dates are).
Yes, you SHOULD come to Chicago. Let me know if you'll be able to, and I'll try to head out that way too. I'm pretty much decided I'm going to go to at least ONE of the Red Sox games in Mid-June.
Rumors were rampant all over the Midwest that Terry Francona would be the White Sox new manager. He was a back up infielder for the Cubs for a few years in the mid-'80's, and was very well liked.
However, with the announcement yesterday that Robin Ventura would be managing the South Siders, maybe Terry can come to the Cubs. He'd certainly be most welcome.
And no, I have no idea if Ventura plans to hire Nolan Ryan as his pitching coach.
It would be great if you were able to make it to Chicago also, Ravi. Please try, okay?

CT is seperated by Fairfield Country..they think they are in New York and the rest of the State....i'm in the Northwest Part of the State....MA is closer to me...about 17 miles then the New York border which is about 25 miles...Boston and New York City are about the same in Distance approx 120 miles...But , i can make Boston a lot Faster ( easier drive ) ......Citi Field is actually a bit closer. But , i do get to hear both cities sports talk radio WEEI in Boston and WFAN in NY.
Ventura was a great player , not sure about him as a manager ....... i thought he was very quiet as a player ...i know he did some ESPN work for the college world series.....Cubs should just hire Sanberg...i think he has paid his dues in the Minors and deserves the chance....I think Francona will take a year off and make his next manager move at ESPN....i heard a weird one today..Orioles with Buck becoming the GM!!

I loved Sandberg as a player and as a minor league manager. (I saw him when he was managing at Peoria-Class A and at Des Moines-Class AAA).
I think he'd be a good manager, and yes, he's paid his dues, but YA KNOW, I've followed the Cubs for nearly 50 years now, and it just doesn't seem to matter WHO they have playing for them or who the manager is, they just seem to find ways to screw up.
They REFUSE to get a decent pitcher who can stay healthy. Greg Maddux becoming a Cub was a fluke, believe me.

Keep in mind, if JB keeps to his typical schedule that could potentially be GW weekend and will require all hands on deck.

Maybe, but not THESE hands. Not so much because of the Red Sox @ Cubs, but I'm contemplating a couple other potential road trips. I'm sure Jimmy will keep the G.W. crowd informed as to the progress of the game involving HIS two favorite teams.

Jimmy will schedule accordingly!!!..if so...i've been to 64 shows , i could miss 1 GW show and travel somewhere else to see him...or Maybe he does a Thursday again, and i Fly out to Chicago on Friday morning, for the weekend!!....to far to think!!!

Concert tickets are easy to get for Chicago, Tommy. (Probably because he now plays in a HUGE soccer stadium).
So I think you should make TWO trips out there next year-one for the Red Sox/Cubs series, and one for the concert.

Similar to me, I've been to enough Buffett shows, I can miss one to see something like this.

Good point, Lesley! Or is that "all hands needed to get the deck into the lot?!"

TOMMY:
I was wrong about the dates your Mets will be at Wrigley Field.
They play the Cubs in Chicago on JUNE 25, 26, & 27.
They open at home against the Braves on April 5, and close out their season at Miami on Oct. 3.
Their inter-league games are:
May 18, 19, & 20 @ Toronto
June 8, 9, & 10 @ Yankees
June 12, 13, & 14 @ Tampa Bay
June 18, 19, & 20 vs. Baltimore
June 22, 23, & 24 vs. Yankees
Their final home game is Sept. 27 against the Pirates.

i find it strange they would play the AL East again..didn't they play the Yankees there this year..and the Yankees ,as a Home and Home next year...usually the Yankees do home and home with the Mets ,and the Cubs with the White Sox

That's going to be the case again this year, as it is every year.
The Mets & Yankees will play six games-three each at their own stadiums.
Same with the Cubs & White Sox.

You should, really.
I really wanted to get to a game at old Yankee Stadium before they tore it down, and never did.
I'll try someday soon to get to the new Yankee Stadium, but it won't be the same.
