Here's to remembering that January 20th is the 50th anniversary of the the JFK inauguration and perhaps one of the most famous inauguration addresses.....

Ask Not What Your Country Can Do For You
If we couldn't laugh we would all go insane ...
Re: Ask Not What Your Country Can Do For You
Life in the U.S was not perfect under Camelot. But it has not gotten much better since then.
I hope we can honor President Kennedy's memory by improving ourselves and our country in the next forty-odd years. Small steps can lead to great gains.

and I know I can come up with a lot of ways where things have gotten better since
the early 1960s.
In so many ways.

I agree SP- on the better side I think we can add 1) civil rights legislation, 2) fall of Communism, 3) advances in medicine...

Nice piece on the NBC News tonight with Caroline Kennedy as they talked about this speech. The extended interview online is worth a listen.

I can't wait to see what SP comes up with. Whatever it is I'm sure I'll agree.

Things have gotten better. Many of you may be too young to remember
1968. A very violent year at home and abroad.
