Update on Jimmy from the director of emergency
This guy was in front row at the concert - one of our finest and was there in seconds to treat him. He also rode in the ambulance to hospital with him.
These are the notes I jotted down from the TV interview with him this morning - just getting key points - but all quite positive.
ok only unconscious a minute or two. This doctor was straight there. Nasty cut on his head and some minor ones elsewhere. CT scans and neck - they were worried about his head. He has recovered well, needs a fair amount of convalescence. Discharged today. Advised to go in to cotton balls, and to be sensible and rest.

Thanks for the update, Jenny.......so sorry that (a) Jimmy took a fall and (b) you had to experience that in person. I know how much you and others in Sydney were looking forward to these shows....

While it's sad for the NZ folks, they have to look at the bigger picture - I'm sure they want him around so he can come BACK next year like he said.

Re: Update on Jimmy from the director of emergency
Thanks - it was rather traumatic. I was on such a high having met him before the show and giving the man a hug. There was many "ridiculous" statements circulating through the crowd as we were leaving that he was dead .. how would anyone know. I was just sick on the stomach - but surely not as much as his family and loved ones would have been. Glad he is ok .... .. phew ...Bfan53again wrote:Thanks for the update, Jenny.......so sorry that (a) Jimmy took a fall and (b) you had to experience that in person. If that is the case, I'm sure New Zealanders will be very disappointed.
and the band has already left...

Thank you for your continual updates from down under for those of us "up and over". And for the dialect translations too!

Re: Update on Jimmy from the director of emergency
I could be wrong .. but it is now thursday .. show is saturday .. he gets out of hospital in around 30 minutes. He has been advised to take a long convalesence. . I dont know getting on stage and singing with loud music fits that - but then - I dontk now him and how determined he might be.ScarletB wrote:creeky wrote:My guess - understanding the lingo of the doctor? would be a nospringparrot wrote:Thanks for the explanation Jenny

Let's hope he's smart enough to listen to the doctors and hopefully his personal docs over here have chimed in.

Re: Update on Jimmy from the director of emergency
Uncle Jim posted on facebook that the band was sent to NZ to be ready in case Jimmy is up to it - even if I had tkts I would rather him rest -I don't think you are suppose to fly with a head injury!!!ScarletB wrote:creeky wrote:My guess - understanding the lingo of the doctor? would be a nospringparrot wrote:Thanks for the explanation Jenny

Re: Update on Jimmy from the director of emergency
I'm glad he is doing okay, but he definitely needs to be careful after taking a fall like that. Hopefully, the people with him will keep an eye on him in case he starts to feel bad.

I can't help but think about Natascha Richardson and I'm so glad he had no choice but to go to the hospital and stay put for a while
