Wow.... The PW County Police have no worse crime to worry about than a chair?? Yeah, I'm being facetious, but *really*.....
I wonder if the Margarillas are allowed to wander. Or if the Foods Bus is set up.... It'd be funny in the most warped sense possible if the Police detained the Margarillas for the sin of riding a bike around......

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Pinot Noir in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO"
course Jiffy Lube is going to blame the poor attendance on the rescheduling of the show due to the hurricane, and totally downplay the no tailgating thing
My love is staying an anchor tied to you with that silver chain.

JLL can't possibly survive with this policy...........maybe that's what the "powers that be" (whoever they are) want, but I can't understand it!

Jimmy has to understand one thing: He alone created and promoted this tailgating, party atmosphere at his concerts for years. His fans have come to expect it as part of the whole concert "experience". Without it, is not the same for many of us........

I just emailed Kirsten who the DJ on right now at RM. The Cocotel has it on good authority that the lots are like a morgue. I told her we weren't boycotting Jimmy but JLL. And we have been denied our family reunion!

Apparently not......this was just posted on the FB page:

Some people will undoubtedly be upset that JB didn't go batsh*t on JLL from the stage. First, there were digs, and reports of comments on the big screen pertaining to the parking lot situation. But JB took the high road, and good for him. He got his point across, no doubt. Second, the people at the show paid to see a good show, not a referendum on JLL. They already got a FULL ration of all that crap as they were herded through the lot to the gates.... Focusing on such a downer of an issue was liable to rob even more of the fun from a show that had to be a little tough for fans to get in a decent mood in the first place. JB's shows have always been about forgetting the crap of life for a couple of hours....
I predict we won't see JLL again unless their policies change......

I don't know where you were, but there were beach balls all around us. The lots were like morgues, agreed, but we didn't witness any harassment by the police and yes, they were all over the place. In the end, the venue was close to 80% full, if not more. I was extremely surprised. The Prince William County police were expecting 13K. They definitely got more than that. JB got his point across but I think we Parrotheads did too. We showed that even though we couldn't participate in our normal Buffett rituals, in the end, it is all about the man and his music.
VA BEACH (97,16), BRISTOW (98-12, 15, 17,18, 21), NASHVILLE (99, 17), COLUMBIA, MD (00), GREENSBORO (01-02), RALEIGH (03), ANTIOCH, TN (03), CHULA VISTA (04), PHILADELPHIA (05), LAS VEGAS (06-16, 19), HOUSTON (07), ATLANTIC CITY (07), FRISCO, TX (08).
Hey folks. What an interesting show. The lots were indeed empty with police everywhere. What was nuts was every shopping center around JLL had police in them; pretty much saying, you can't tailgate in here either. So, the lots were dead and the place seemed dead. The lawn was pretty empty. The pav seemed empty too until it got a little dark and then people starting hoping over the back wall to get into seats. So, they upgraded themselves.
The crowd had a ton of kids and older people. No offense to anyone here but by older I mean people in their 60s+. And by kids, I mean 2-10 year olds. I even saw several babies. It was weird. The crowd reacted to songs of the yellow album but anything else it seemed to be muted. The probably just don't know songs like Life is Just a Tire Swing, The City, etc. Heck, even Jolly Mon and the Weather is Here didn't seem to draw a big response. Except from me, they are some of my favorites.
Getting out was a breeze and I ended up home before 11:20.
All in all, the music was great but the energy level was lacking. At least no one on the lawn asked me to sit down, that would have been the ultimate insult.
Oh, and there were beach balls. People just didn't really know what to do with them...
