How about SP wakes up in bed, turns to Mrs. SP and says, "You wouldn't believe the dream I just had", and then recaps the plotline in three panels (or less). The next strip goes off in an entirely different direction.
Hey, it worked for "Dallas" and "Newhart".......

Or Mrs. SP tired of his late nights at the drawing board sneaks up on him and hits him on the head with a rolling pin and causes a short term amnesia that brings him back to just before this story line started and he moves on to a new story line.

Time warp.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

I've had an *exit strategy* from this storyline all along ....
Clues are at http://www.bncritters.com/january2011.html
I've just had *life* interfere with a writing/publishing schedule again. Sorry about that.
