Any Interesting Twitter People You Follow?

Post by MargaritaMatt »

I am looking for some interesting people to follow on twitter that are in the Key's or Caribbean. I follow the usual suspects, Buffett News, the M-villes, JB's feed and such.

I have a hard enough time keeping up on FB and BN after a 10+ work day.

@GuyKawasaki is by far the most interesting I have found. He sends links from all around the web about what's interesting. He has over 300,000 followers right now.

I don't follow any people. Too much crap. I only follow a couple of businesses so I'm aware when they get new things in. I don't send out any tweets, I figure no one cares.

You see I am just not a follower. So twitter and facespace or mybook or whatever they are called hold no appeal.

Besides, is anyone "interesting" on twitter? Seems like a paradox to me.

I don't do Twitter on the phone, and don't remember to read it on the computer, but I like these ones, plus some writers and editors.

I have mixed feelings about twitter, so I haven't jumped in yet. There's a lot of, well, twittery, obviously, but some of the live news "tweets" from people on the ground during some of the volatile political situations going on right now are fascinating.

I might open a twitter account one day just to have all those kinds of things in one place, but I don't see myself tweeting much. FB has been a great way for me to get news updates for pop culture type events -- band updates, concerts, tour dates, foodie stuff, favorite authors, etc. I don't really need to add twitter to the mix for that kind of stuff right now. As long as I can keep up with where my favorite food trucks are on any given day, I'm good (if you're in SF, you've gotta check out The Rib Whip!).

Interestingly enough, I live less than a block away from Twitter HQ. Maybe familiarity breeds contempt? One too many nights at Local or 25 Lusk or District with the hipster/scenester/techie crowd, ya know...
