Hi everyone,

As you're well aware, Christchurch, New Zealand is having quite the time at the moment. However, this auction shows that they may be down at the moment, but they are definitely not out! Please have a look at the kiwi spirit in this auction and if you feel like donating please do. It is a legitimate auction, and the travel company did indeed include the holiday package at the end - all of it is real. There are a lot of comments posted on the bottom, and those are worth reading too if you have the chance. Thanks again for all your support and prayers. Enjoy!

Amazing strength and humour there!
But is anyone taking the Rock away?
I really liked the idea from Cleveland, to put "him" in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

I think that they'll take it away eventually, but there are huge cordons still around a lot of areas and the retrieval of bodies within the CBD is still ongoing. That's not even taking into account all the aftershocks that are still shifting the ground and the houses. They have apparently had over 5000 aftershocks/earthquakes in the area since September! As far as I can see from the news, the outside areas (towns outside of the central city) have not been handled with a ton of speed since they keep looking for bodies. They'll get there eventually though, I'm sure.

Just a follow up on this story if anyone was wondering - the auction has closed and the winning bidder spent $10,050 - all of which will go to the Christchurch earthquake appeal. However, they also get a picture with the boulder when the cordon is removed and a 7 night stay at a resort that was added part way through the auction by someone else. Pretty neat!
