According to the Chicago Tribune. I have to admit I really like both of them a lot, but I don't see much of a connection, but then again I can see how this comparison could be made.
I wonder if KR makes it onstge with Jimmy in New Orleans since he playing the next afternoon.

I feel this article is worthy of a good discussion.

Saw the tour opener a little over a month ago.
I'd call Rock more like Sammy Hagar Lite with a dash of Rhyme than a JB clone!
But he does seem to "say the right things" to his audience & appear to respect that they're putting there cash out there for him......like someone kinda had a history of doing.

From the article:

"Rock's missteps occurred when he turned serious."

I'm not a fan either but the things I've favored most from him were when he wasn't stealing whole parts from other artists and was actually trying to do something original. Unfortunately, the latter doesn't fly very well in the Top 40 world these days.

I saw Kid Rock two weeks ago, his show is 1st Class.. He loves his fans, loves to play music. This show he did more of his Southern Rock then he did his Rap.. It was a great show.. I can see how his fan based to him, are like Parrotheads to Jimmy. I don't see Kid ever doing the Trop-Rock kinda of Music..

Now this summer his boy Uncle Kracker is touring with Zac Brown and that will be an awesome show.. Then they are opening up for Kenny Chesney all over.. I could see Uncle Kracker start doing some Trop-Rock, he writes great songs..

I remember Kid Rock back when he had a high top fade on the "Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast" album in 90. His second album "The Polyfuze Method" in 93 is really good and hard to find. I guess I've kinda burned out on him now. I bought his latest release & it's lame imo. Elevator music compared to his old stuff. He's become more of a Bob Seger wanna-be than a "Devil Without a Cause" which is my favorite album from him. I'd liked him more when he mixed country & rap with rock,"I am the Bullgod", "Wastin' Time", "Trippin' with Dick Vitale" and stuff like that.
