First, thanks for the response and the info. Just for clarification, I wasn't looking to park the RV in the actual Coney Island / Riverbend / River Downs concrete parking, but in the free grass lots across from these facilities where the tailgating takes place, which I believe are actually owned by Coney Island. To my knowledge these have always been free, first-come-first-serve lots (I always end up in the first lot, right at the corner of Kellogg and Sutton Rd). This is where we will be regardless, but it would be great if we could be there in an RV as opposed to a car and be able to park there overnight without getting thrown out - haha.PartofthePhlock wrote:Hello Brian, Lucky you living in San Diego....the city with perfect weather.fenderparrothead wrote:Hi everyone!
I've been to the concert in Cincy for many years straight and am planning a return trip this year (despite having moved 3/4 the way across the country to San Diego), but my friends and I this year were debating renting an RV and I was wondering if anyone had previous experience with this at Cincy?
I've seen RVs in the Coney Island tailgating lot across the street from Riverbend, but I don't know if there's any special permission or other such red tape that we would need to go through for that. It would rock if we could get there the night before and stay until the morning after, but I don't know if that's acceptable. Though, it always seems the RVs are there when I show up and still there when I'm leaving.
Anyway, any assistance that you can provide would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!! Brian![]()
Ahhhh The RV question. We have been told that RV's are not permitted in the Coney Island, Riverbend or River Downs parking lots. However RVs may be parked/setup in the pay lots across the street from these three venues. The lot across from Riverbend is very small but do allow overnight parking. I believe those book up a year in advance.
If you a looking for a place to park the RV overnight the Wal-mart at exit 65 on I--275 will let you stay in their lot overnight.
worst comes to worst, there are those semi van-trailers in the lot on the west side of the T-intersection, couldn't be too hard to use those as a crash site the night before...Capt.Flock wrote:If I remember right they do not allow parking over night anymore however I could be wrong.
Absolutely! You will join us. I am Auntie and I have spoken.melon59 wrote:I have been schooling around on this website for quite awhile now, only posted a few times and really appreciate reading the posts and advice from the tailgating veterans. I was a virgin at last year's Cincy concert and had an awesome time. I told my hubby, "i can cross that off my bucket list and die happy now". He told mke to wait, because we WOULD go again and would do it up right! So, if anyone is interested in meeting a long time Phan but concert newbie, I would LOVE to talk and see if we can meet up at this years event!
Thanks!

don't have to go to the concert, could just show up for the tailgate. Could bring 7 oz. bottles of Miller beer, and 375 ml bottles of Cruzan...PartofthePhlock wrote:RinglingRingling wrote:Kenny Cheesney is playing Riverbend?PartofthePhlock wrote:The weather here is Cincinnati TAILGATE weather!
