Who's going to Nashville, TN May 28?
UPDATE posted May 5
The street party will be from 11AM thru 8PM May 28 on Broadway (between 3rd and 4th Ave I think) in downtown Nashville. Still no word on what band Margaritaville has booked. Since Margaritaville is putting it on I expect to see stilt-walkers, balloon artists, etc. It's a parrothead street party - I can't think of what more details to add. I would not expect you to be able to set up your grille, canopy, etc on the street or sidewalk. I know there will be several thousand pholks coming to Nashville for the concert and hoping to eat at Margaritaville but I'm thinking there will be a loooooong line to get in because they will be packed to the rafters all day Friday, Saturday and probably for lunch Sunday too.
I'm still working on it but here is a link to a web site that is designed for mobile users and will have various bits of info that might be useful for out of town visitors.
http://m.mcphins.com/
I'm also keeping track of the email/tele# contact list for concert visitors. If you will PM your info (BuffettNews ID, real name if you want to, tele# or email) to me I'll then put it all in one PM and send it to everyone on the list Friday morning before the Sat concert.

Will there be a pre-sale for tickets?
If so, anyone got the password?

I have not heard of any pre-sale tickets except for parrothead club members.

Since a lot of new visitors will hit this thread ......
Nashvillers!
We need YOUR VOTES! We have a racecar entered in the Toyota Sponsafier contest
to raise money and awarenmess of the parrothead charity organization PartiesThatMatter.org.
Our goal is to make the TOP TEN. We can do it if we rally the tremendous leverage of all parrotheads,
and show that we can Party With a Purpose and support the PARTIES THAT MATTER credo of
"Sharing so that others may live."
Our Racecar is named in honor of Vicki Britt, a courageous parrothead and friend that sadly we lost last year.
Vicki was a tremendous supporter of PARTIES THAT MATTER and loving example of why we can proudly say
that parrotheads know how to Party With A Purpose.
We're in 4th place out of over 23,000 entries!
Thanks to YOU and on air support at Radio Margaritaville from Kirsten and Miles.
We'd also like to thank DJ Jeff Allen and BeachFront Radio for their support.
We've even made the NATIONAL NEWS ....http://tinyurl.com/yahoonascar

We need your support .... I do a lot (a lot) of stupid inane fluff on the internet (e.g. the BN Critters comic strip),
but this is not one of those. This is something serious and meaningful to promote the parrothead charity
Parties That Matter. More details are at www.NASCARITAVILLE.com.
Voting is easy. No registration just a simple click/vote. Have someone vote once per day, every day now through
March 13th from each computer in your home and office.
Please VOTE DAILY and help me promote this through March 13th!

We beez comin' !! We got our room at the...wait, I gotta look it up because we're coming to the Birthday Bash too.....OK ! at the Renaissance !!! Where we stayed last year. Very close, probably the closest or next to it to the Arena. I saved $20-25 by going through Travelocity rather than the Mariott/Renaissance website.

You'll just have to give Billy Ray Cyrus a "handshake" for me this year, since I won't able to do it in personcitcat wrote:We beez comin' !! Thinking about it. Only thing in the way is a conference in Dallas.
My last Nashville concert was the last year for an outdoor venue....think it was 2000. St. Somewhere was prime. Was an awesome time.

Re: Who's going to Nashville, TN May 28?
Oh that WOULD be fun. I love Nashville, and old Nashville is or at least used to be major fun.....got to meet Willie N that year too. Love the bar with the horses standing on the ceiling. ha ha. Auntie was at that concert too or at least I thought she was. She said she doesnt remember me but then I was kickin em pretty high and may not have 100% recall. Now I just have to get out of this conference.citcat wrote:I was at that concert....the first time I heard St. Somewhere ! What a great time ! I can't wait! Hopefully the weather cooperates this year. I think we earned it last year.
I knew this girl made of memories and phrases, who lived her whole life in both chapters and stages.
Danced 'til the dawn, wished all her worries away.
She's a long way from a West Nashville grand ballroom gown.

It looks like we are coming to Nashville from the STL. Any tips on hotels?

Can anyone tell me the closest hotel for walking to the venue? I know I am behind, but maybe there is still a room or two?

The Hilton is right across the street and the Renaissance is a couple of blocks away. http://www.nashvilledowntown.com/play/hotels
