Who's going to Alpine Valley Saturday June 25th 2011

Post by southofdisorder07 »

OK, someone had to start this with all the rumors and disbelief going on, so I'll put my neck on the line:-)

Info coming shortly on Hemingways Pre-Alpine Bash. They are now accepting pre-sale reservations for Friday night and also for the bus. Contact Jessica at

Jessica@hemingwaysportofcall.com

She is your go to person this year, make sure you tell her you are a BNer.

We have 418 tickets for the Friday Bash & 82 spots for the buses.

Volcano Express will be joining us again this year and you can also make arrangements for bus transport through them.

Bus cost $34.00/person, Friday night $12.00/person at door, $10.00/person pre-sale.

Let the planning begin!!!

While I'd feel better if this was listed on margaritaville.com, I've learned not to question Steve's sources. So June 25th it is! Let the party planning (finally) begin! :D

This sounds good Steve, btw do you need a deposit on the reservations? If so, what's the best way to get it to you?

I have read a few places on here about camping and taking buses to the show... I am interested in this. I am thinking about riding my Harley up there, would be a great time to figure out how to pack a tent on it. Is there more then one group that does this? I would like to get in on it.

Lodging - First off, Lake Lawn and Geneva Ridge have closed their doors (BK), rumors are that Geneva Ridfge may reopen with new owners but nothing firmed up. For those who know, the other lodging options ALWAYS rape us during Buffett weekend.

Some suggestions of larger places are:

Grand Geneva
The Cove
Mill Creek
Bella Vista
Harbor Shores (this is where the road crew, management, and security generally stay)
The Abby

I would contact Lake Geneva COC or look em up on the web for listing of smaller lodging places and bed and breakfast, there are many.

Camping: There are a few camp grounds that are in thea area, including Two Seasons Bowl, and if you didn't know by now (LOL), they also have a pre show party and provide busing to the show. It would be great if one of these years we could combine the bashes, but alas, ain't this year, so pholks have their choice again of two great preshow parties.

Presale tixs for Hemingways and Hemingways bus: Contact Jessica at Jessica@hemingwaysportofcall.com

If anyone needs any help, please contact me directly, will do the best we can to assist in finding lodging transportation, tixs, etc etc.

Last, Jolena, you better make it this year:-), who is gonna organize all these BNers!!!!

Who else has done the Two Seasons Bowl camping and bus ride? Is there anything nearby the place where a guy could buy a case of beer and some somewhat portable food for the day? If I do this it will likely be a harley trip so not much room for the usual supplies.

I have stayed in East Troy at the Country Inn and suites, In Burlington at the American Inn, in Waterford at the Baymont, and Lake Geneva at tthe Timber Ridge lodge. So far the Baymont and Timber Ridge Lodge are by far the best places to stay. Nice facilities and friendly staff. Country inn is nice but pricey and avoid the American inn at all costs!!

I'm so excited! I was pregnant last year during buffett, but this year I can enjoy a few margaritas. YAHHOOOOOOO!!!

We are doing the Two Seasons bowl, we saw the Friday show two years ago and it was AMAZING. Fabulous group of people, very intimate show, it was almost (dare I say) nicer then the actual Buffett show.
Never say no to an adventure!

SO Ready for Buffett 2011. We have stayed in Rockford, Alpine Valley Lodge, and Beloit. Alpine Valley Lodge is ok if you can get rooms, but pretty expensive for what you get and they make no special arrangements for people going to the show. The close location to the venue is really the only draw. The Holiday Inn Express in Beloit is great! Just have to have a DD or two for afterwards, but the drive was not bad. They embraced the show even allowing people to pre-tailgate in the parking lot before heading to the show. Paid the same price to stay 2 nights at hi as we paid for one night at alpine valley lodge. Since we drive about 3 1/2 hrs, its nice to stay the Friday night and not have to get up so early to drive to the show. Hope everyone gets their tickets with no problems and has a great time at the show!! not too long to wait!!!

Cya in Finnland!!!

I have not done the camping or bus ride, but there is a gas station, a Walgreens, and a complete grocery within walking distance, as well as fast food options. The Two Seasons Bowl crew is good people, and the Friday festivities have been phenomenal the past 2 years! And the happy campers are more than hospitable.

Steve and the Hemingways crew are also good people, and provide entertainment for the weekend as well.

Excited to be returning to Buffett at Alpine Valley for the first time since 2007! I've stayed in Beloit and in Janesville. This year the closest I can find is the Comfort Suites in Delavan. (We are coming from Iowa so we want to stay on the west side of Alpine so we don't have to drive any farther than necessary!) Does anyone know anything about this place? Also, I think we have some friends bringing an RV this time. Never done the RV thing - always came by bus or our own car. Isn't the parking for RV's separate? Any advantages or disadvantages in bringing an RV?

Any input about RV's or the Comfort Suites is appreciated! Thanks! And Fins Up!

Comfort Suites in Delavan should be ok, it has been there maybe 7 years...I have never been inside though. There is a McD's, Wendy's, KFC, a Walgreens, a few liquour stores and a big grocery store pretty close by. Delavan will be a lot quicker ride to Alpine than JVille or Beloit were.
RV's, I don't have personal experience but I know they charge you extra to just drive one into the lot. They begin by parking rv's and busses seperate but we've seen rv's and cars all kind of mixed together the later it gets. There also is going to be overnight camping at Alpine this year, no word yet on camping prices, probably pretty expensive.

Hope this info helps^^^^

There is a Twins/Brewers matchup in Milwaukee that weekend also.
